Have Expy, going for... Air King?
I have a 1999 Expy 2 that I picked up and wear as a daily beater. I love it, I adore it.
Is it wrong for me to want an Air King, too? I just really like the simplicity of the Air King and I think it's a wonderful watch. Plus, I kinda like the digression from the Mercedes hour hand. Am I just stupid? Or should I pick up an Air King? |

The AK would be a nice dressy compliment to your "everyday" Explorer.
Although there is nothing "everyday" about ANY Rolex, IMO!

You might also consider a "family affair"
Agree w/ what others have Posted.
Personally, I like to have "options" between daily wear and something a bit more for special occasions. But how you do that and what you consider bling versus understated is a matter of lifestyle. Just keep it Rolex! In my current rotation (which may change), the Submariner Date is my daily, everything wear watch. My special times piece is the Explorer I. Since these are not terribly different from what you have in the Explorer II, you might also want to at least look at that Explorer I before making a final decision.

The Air-King is a great watch with a great history.. and the movement is the same as the Sub and the Explorer..
Dial size is about the same too, so all the difference is, is a bit of extra bezel metal ..

if you like it and could afford it then by all means buy it.did you see the new oyster date that looks like a expy 1 without the mercedes hands, that is a cool watch.just don't pay full price for it,i know of a few ad's in our neighborhood that discount and offer an extra 3 years warranty at no extra charge.send me a pm if your interested.

Food for thought: The new style AK is really nice, especially the new rounder case, and the solid oyster bracelet.

The AK is a great watch. I've had mine for 18 years and I still like it as much as I did on the first day!
