Does anyone work at an AD?
I am interested... I wonder how well they are paid. That...And the potential for discounts.

They are allowed to buy one Rolex yearly at cost...about 35% off
I have many friends at the AD, the salary range is very wide, remember I am talking about Mayors, and they sell a lot more than Rolex watches |

Oh, wow, one/year. Wasn't aware they were allowed to get one that frequently. Is there anything in place that prevents them from flipping?

Ah ha, I see.
Yeah, I assumed they could do as they please as well. I was just wondering. I once offered someone to buy using their discount (knowing they weren't going to purchase one, and obviously give them a cut while at it), but they were so hesitant (felt like they might have got in trouble if they did that) that I didn't ask more details. |

I worked at one when I was in high school some thirty years ago and got 35% with no tax.

Was that discount also an annual perk back then, as others have suggested it is current day? |

keep in mind the store still makes $ on the sale even with a 35% discount. watches have large markups from wholesale to retail. |

(I think I said that right lol) So at the most we are talking about the AD making 3 percent on that watch, if the employee is allowed to purchase it at 35% off. |

I wonder if they have to pay tax? which would reduce the savings by 5-8%...

None of the numbers above are correct for European ADs. Their profit margins and pricings also depend on the exchange rate of CHF. Could be true for chain ADs who don't buy directly from Rolex though. To put some numbers out there - One of my recent purchases retails at 6750EUR, and I paid just over 4000EUR for it (and yes, I have receipts for it too, full AD, my name in warranty, diet coke, green Rolex bag, the works...) Same watch from a trusted seller here in TRF was just under 6000USD, so almost 1500EUR more expensive than AD. Like I said - I can't afford trusted sellers, so I have to buy from ADs :) |

Does anyone work at an AD?
Do they offer a Coke Zero to justify the extra '0' in the final price? Lol. Makes the premium totally justified then Quote:
Exactly... They can get the bulk discount and we then take a less than 'bulk' discount You need to find new trusted sellers then :) lol |

I have the utmost faith that the trusted sellers can sustain them. All joking aside, some people like to walk out with a Rolex bag |

Imagine Rolex becoming a parking lot Craigslist item for good. Value would only be in the PM at that point. |

10-20% margins on products with no essential overheads is a fantastic business. But obviously nothing compared to ADs. |

They are not Rolex employees and so any discount on Rolex or any other jewelry would be a Company decision. I'll bet that those policies are vastly different between Dealers..
