Nice. I tried it on when I happen to be wearing my original from '69 (mine is not a racing dial however) and the case is identical dimension. It does now have an added date corrector button I'm not crazy about on the new one however.

Like the original, it is a heavy head watch, so it needs to be snug or it wants to spin around your wrist.

As I understand it, the Mark II was developed after the results of the NASA trials made it back to Omega. They wanted to address the shortcomings of the moon watch, and developed this massive case. Other than the mineral crystal, these are bomb-proof.

yes I would say it is a bit "chunky" but wears well in my opinion. seems stable on the wrist and the bracelet is very comfortable and has a real quality feel to it. it is "reassuringly heavy" without being a complete brick like, say, some Breitlings imo.

I have only worn it 3 times so far as it was part of my 3 way swap fest that brought in a tudor chrono and a coke GMT master II and I am still getting used to all of my 3 newbies.

I love the dial and the appearance of the watch overall.

build quality is excellent all round.

I am not bothered by the date adjuster - it works very well by the way.

accuracy seems well up to COSC standards or better.

The heavy head syndrome I experience may be due to being on the original folded link "jubilee-ish" bracelet in my case.

It is a very light bracelet and I'm sure the modern bracelet is like the Planet Ocean one which is solid and hefty. I'm sure it balances well on something like that!

It is quite stunning.

Is the crystal sapphire? If that fits my original I get scratch resistance (original is mineral glass) and a glowing tachymetre scale!
