Well I thought I was done for the year... Nope!

I thought I was done for the year, just traded my 78' 1680 and some $ for a splendid 77' Pre-Comex 5513 which I was taking to Bo at ABC Watchwerks to have regulated and thought "Hey, let me stop in to Hill Street and poke around". There in the case, staring at me was an equally gorgeous 1970' 1675, perfect matching "latte" patina and a scrumptious pepsi bezel. All at a price I can't mention in polite company.

Suffice it to say it's going to be a happy new year.

I also purchased a wonderfully faded black insert from ABC...

The bezel on the GMT looks amazing, it looks purple-ish with the lights on it even though it's obviously black.

Thanks! Actually I make and sell those bespoke bracelets. You can check out my instagram feed for ideas, search "chronocords". Message me if you're interested.

Which store on Hill Street did you find this at? I'm there every few weeks and have been looking for a vintage 1675 or 16750. Usually I can only find more modern pieces.

I really would love a vintage sub or GMT but dont even know where to start looking and it seems the smallest thing can take a watch from priceless to worthless

Congrats on your additions

It does take some time and patience to learn the basics but really you should try to find what looks good to you and then ask questions here. To me the most important things are a thick case, beautiful even patina, mathing hands and a correct insert. If possible try to get as many original period correct parts (crown, bracelet etc.) as possible.
