Stolen 40 mm gold presidential Rolex in New York

I was robbed in time square and my new gold presidential Rolex with a white face and a diamond bezel. The also stole my credit card and was used in Brooklyn. I reported it stolen to the police.. They started a investigation. Anyone have any suggestions were my watch could be? Or any tips on what I should do?

Sorry to hear. You should also give Rolex the serial number of your stolen watch so they can enter into their database.

Sorry to hear that, and I'm sorry that it happened here in New York. If you filed a police report, then I don't think there's much more you can do. I hope it was insured.

I thought Times Square was safer than Disneyland these days. Sorry to hear about the robbery, the advice above will hopefully help towards recovering.

Safe from violence, but theft is rampant I'm afraid. Just like any crowded place in any major city. My Rolex slips into my pocket and my wallet migrates to my front pocket if I'm forced to walk through Times Square.

I'm so sorry about that! Can you please explain to us what really happened? How did they manage to get away with that in a busy place like time square?
Shocking and scary!

If a watch is ripped off ones wrist, that isn't theft, it is violent. I don't think the DD40 was discretely removed without the owner knowing it was being removed.
Sounds like robbery to me.

Sorry to hear you got robbed. Hopefully you have insurance and the cops have the watch serial number so they can retrieve it if it turns out at a pawnshop. And submit the police report with the serial number to Rolex.

gold dd40 doesn't come with white dial.

was the watch real?

Also, there's A LOT of police presence in times square. Don't hear people being robbed there often.

Maybe the op meant the silver or champagne dial which sometimes looks white at certain angles..

Trying to rob me would be the last mistake the person made. I can't stand thieves. So sorry to hear this.

I hate how people take advantage of others hard earned "goodies" just to support a drug habit etc.

Not to make you sick, but if he doesn't sell it at a pawn shop, he will probably sell it on the street for $100 just so he can get his next heroin/ or crack fix. Sooooooooo pathetic.

Look at his other thread.

Click

There is no reference 218248, it would be a 218348 (maybe a typo). Then it is a DDII, not a DD40. And there still is no white roman diamond dial.

I would report the serial to Rolex and to the police. So if it comes up in a pawn shop they it will be returned and if it ever goes for servicing they will return it.

I feel like someone who just bought a 30k watch would know that they bought a silver or champagne dial and wouldn't get it confused with white. But you never know. Either way if this is real do what I said that's your best bet.

According to this post the model isn't a DD40 but a DDII and an M serial.
http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....5&postcount=92

Kind of makes one concerned when one gets a report like this....

There's 8 digits in the serial number beginning with M so it would be random serial.

Looking at his other post the only thing I can think of is its a custom dial. As he says it's a white roman with diamonds and a diamond bezel

But again it comes back to how does someone spend that kind of money and not know if he's wearing a DDII or a DD40.

We should Give him, the benefit of the Doubt, he is a member who has only posted twice. He may not be a WIS. he called it a 40mm gold presidential, he didn't say DD40 or DDII. 41mm isn't that far off 40mm so he may simply not knower the finer points of our Rolex world.

Yahoo mentality. Kill a man over a watch? Beat your kids too?
