Good explanation of magnetic fields.

I was told my GMT ll C has the new blue spring in it and is impervious to magnetic fields. I dont think I need the Millgauss.

As a practical matter I'm not sure most of us "need" a Millie. That said, while the Parchrom mainspring isn't impacted by magnetic fields, that's not the only part susceptible to magnetism; that's why all serious anti-magnetic watches encase the entire movement in a Faraday cage.
Don't be mislead into thinking the GMT-IIC equals the Millie or Daytona in terms of magnetic resistance, just because they share the same mainspring.

Thats interesting. When I researched getting a sports rolex and spoke with my AD who is very knowledgable on the subject it was pointed out abt the durability concerning magnitism and the new GMT. Maybe Rolex in their training manuals want the ADs to stress this point and why they used the Parchrom spring in the GMT ll. Not that I am surrounded by huge magnetic fields in my home or car but it felt good to know this watch would be protected from a heavy magnet.

I was messing with my GE Microwave,.,, the magnetron broke and needed replacement. It s a huge magnet and it just split in half. I handled it for 30 mins with my watch on and it never skipped a beat.

In my tool box this huge magnet from the microwave affixes to at least 10 screwdrivers,, so its very powerful.

Glad it didnt mess the GMT up. I would never get the YG DD near it tho,, probably really mess it up inside!!!

Did yone catch the fact that the scientist called them "hairy balls" and that some of the hairs are ingrown?! Is it possible to trim them, I wonder?

Did you mean Daytona other than the Blue Parachrom spring has other para-magnetic parts in them?

No. I screwed up. I should have said; Don't think the Daytona and GMT-IIC have the same anti-magnetic properties as the Millie just because they also contain the Parachrom.
