Hi All.

I am hoping for some wise input.
I have been offered an unworn new Pelagos with both bracelet and rubber at a pretty decent price.
Using our prices here in South Africa, it is going to cost me about a third of what a used ceramic submariner would cost, and still a bit less than half of a used 16610 would cost.

What is better and why?

Just confirmed its a three liner which means old movement. Still new and unworn. Does this make a diff?

Both eta and in house should serve you fine and be plenty accurate. Eta would be easier to service. Depends what you prefer.

If the Pelagos has been on your radar then I would get that. If you are thinking it will scratch your itch for a sub, it probably will not.

The pelagos is a great watch! There are even those that consider it more apt as a diver than the sub. If the financial aspect of the deal is relevant, it's a great choice.

As for in-house vs. ETA, I actually prefer the previous version, for the cleaner dial. It should be a bit cheaper as well. The ETA caliber used is a top notch one anyway, which should be just as accurate as the in-house version.

Congratulations on the purchase of a great watch! My Pelagos has become one of my all time favorite watches. My Pelagos with the in-house movement is the most accurate mechanical watch I have ever owned, more so than any Rolex or JLC that I have had.

The after the first 30 days, my watch was 0.0 with the atomic clock. After a couple of months, I am averaging about +1 to 1.5 seconds a day.

I have to comment because while I've only had my blue pelagos for three days....It is dead on with the time.gov website.

Not the most important thing to me, but it makes me happy and instills confidence that I am getting that rolex quality I was hoping for.

Mine is too. Unbelievable. Example. I set all my watches to atomic time the 14th at 4pm eastern. So far my Pelagos (with in house movement) is still perfect time. That's 5 days. My TT Sub-1.5 sec a day. Daytona -1, TT DJ+1.5, Explorer II lost 1 second in the 5 days, JLC Master Geographic-1 sec in 5 days. I am impressed with the Tudor.

I don't need my watch to be perfect, but if its off more than 1-2 seconds per day then its more than 1 minute off after a month--which I find annoying. My SubC is my only watch, so it never rests and I never have to adjust the time, until its off due to normal inaccuracy.

Besides the accuracy of new Pelagos, its lume is fantastic and beats almost all current watches I know.

I currently own three subs and the Pelagos Blue. All are great watches and very wearable. For the money the Pelagos would be my choice if I could only have one. Mine is plus one second a day.

I'd say the bracelet on Pelagos is actually better than on the Sub. Amazing watch and fantastic value.
