Well done them. Ban phones in restaurants.

I'd never heard of this place until I was in NYC a few months ago, saw a NY1 news item about a branch opening on 6th and when I walked past it later there was a queue out the door and down the street! Crazy for a fast food joint. Must be good I guess!

Oh that. I remember all the empty hoo-haw now, I was in the States at the time.

That was where a smug senior exec at some other company on a personal crusade got immediately fired after proudly uploading a Youtube vid he made of himself verbally abusing and trying to embarrass a poor random girl working at a drive-through who in spite of his assholery maintained her politeness. He'd asked for only a water because he knew it was their policy to give it away free and used that as his opportunity to try and show how tough he was.

His immediate sacking for being a disgrace to his own company was one of the funnier things ever. Talk about a self-inflicted career meltdown.

Those aren't policies, they are discriminatory actions by a few individuals. And violate CFA'a actual policy manual.

As many have commented, they are most known for closing on Sunday's, going the extra mile, and true respect for the individual. Dan has said things that hurt sales - things that are his personal POV.

Their policies are given to every new franchise owner and trained with new employees. Here's one franchisee's manual: http://documents.tempe.gov/sirepub/c...6054959374.PDF

I've known them for 20 years on a business level, plus one of their leaders raced with us for years, too. Very respectful and dedicated people.

I realize they were not policies...think of it as me contributing to the thread after someone had made a comment regarding there other issues...that's all. As far as closing on Sunday's goes...who cares? That makes them a quality company? And I hope you are not naive enough to believe that because a well written manual by corporate law attorneys constitutes a well run, honest company!? I really don't have a dog in the fight, as I don't eat fast food crap, so I could care less if the food is great, or not. I was merely trying to elaborate on what someone had asked a question about...Enjoy your Ice Dream!

My wife went in ordered food for the family, and they gave her the total. It was then, that my wife realized that she had left her purse at home. The manager said "That's all right, consider it a gift."
My wife said, "Don't be silly, I will go home and get my purse.
Manager, "Well then it wouldn't be a gift."
She was wearing her dress clothes, so there was no mistaking her for a pauper.
I have heard of several other stories like this as well.
Chik-fil-a is first class business in my opinion.

This is a great story and very in-line with their corporate philosophy.

Great story. The company has values outside of just making money but unfortunately here in the US, they are demonized for it.

I am chick-fil-a fan. It is my favorite fast food restaurant and I agree with their policies/beliefs. I will go check if they have this promotion asap.

Don't eat there except very rarely, but that goes for about any fast food. And don't really care to opine on their public stance on anything. But a few years ago my neighbor passed away. There were about 150 people at his memorial service and it was catered by Chick-fil-a. The food was pretty good and I asked his girlfriend (who had organized the service) why she chose them for the food and she said that the owner/manager of the local store had somehow heard about the memorial, and offered to cater it for free simply as a gesture. He never knew my neighbor. Maybe he was a member of that church, I don't know. But I thought that was a pretty nice thing to do for people he had never even met.

As far as fast food goes, they are pretty good. They always go above and beyond every other fast food place I've been to.

Sadly, Chic-Fil-A doesn't actually have Ice Cream.

There is a reason they call it Ice Dream. That reason is that it is not ice cream, oh, and IT SUCKS!!!!!

Love Chick-Fil-A. I've always had great service there, and the food is much netter than any other fast food place that I've eaten.

I don't make or take phone calls in restaurants out of respect for others, but I do use my phone to read books, magazine articles, and the news.

I actually don't care for Chick-Fil-A food, but I did make a special trip there when they were under attack by the Left for their personal beliefs.
