After struggling between the SubC Date and BLNR, this is what I chose

I ended up choosing the SubC Date for a couple of reasons:

1) GLIDELOCK
2) No PCLs (I dislike scratches)
3) The BLNR is roughly $2k more expensive than the SubC Date.
4) I have a more or less 1-watch collection, and I feel that the Sub is a bit more timeless than the GMT.
5) LUME on the SubC bezel (pearl).

In the end, I was a bit torn because the BLNR is an extremely beautiful watch, but as a single watch, I felt the SubC date was the better choice.

Has anyone out there ever had to make this decision? Which model did you choose, and why?

As much as I love look of the BLNR, I would have made the same choice!

I picked BLNR over the Hulk. It was also a tough choice, my family member has the SubC and the glidelock is much more comfortable than the micro adjustment clasp of the BLNR, but I wanted the newer watch.

Sub C. The BLNR is beautiful but unless you have a need to know the time for two (or more) time zones the 24 hour hand is pretty much useless and the Sub bezel is better as a timer which I find very useful. And, not to be overlooked, the glidelock on the Sub C is hands down the better bracelet.

I really liked the "click-feel" of the Sub bezel vs the "slide-feel" of the GMT bezel.

I own the Sub C ND and IMO, you made the right choice. I like the blue of the BLNR...but the busyness of the bezel on the BLNR ( too many numbers and large font) give it a too sporty/crowded feel. Less timeless IMO. Obviously, the BLNR is very popular on the forum. I just prefer the old 16710s--smaller numbers on the bezel.

I had both and the subc stayed with me the longest, but I sold the subc for my SDC eventually. Blnr is a beautiful watch nonetheless, the blue bezel does add some vibrancy.

I think the GMT movement is superior to the 3135, too.

I would have made the same choice as you.

Enjoy it now while you deliberate on when to get the BLNR.

I don't think that's all that dumb to say if one wants a GMT function.
