Trade Smurf for WG Skydweller?

Contemplating on trading WG Smurf for black dial with bracelet Skydweller but not sure it is too big? I got rid of my YM2 SS because 44mm was way too big. At 42mm this is smaller but still large.

Thoughts on this? Should I just keep WG Smurf and be satisfied or trade up? What other 40mm is there to trade up to?

I like the Sub but kind of sick of it and the Skydweller although large, always looked attractive

It's a lifestyle question. For me, the Sub/Smurf fit my active lifestyle better than the dressier Sky Dweller.

The YMII wears quite small for a 44mm. But if it feels large on you, you might feel the same with a SkyD.

I have really skinny wrists and YM2 was way too large. I will go try on the Skydweller at AD but not finding any 40mm to replace a Smurf.

The Smurf looks fine on your wrist? A Daytona should look real nice for a skinny wrist IMHO.

Personally, I'm a SS sub guy. If I were to get a PM Rolex, I would look at a DD or a Sky Dweller. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy with no PM experience, but yes I would.

If you are going PM Rolex, nothing beats the Day-Date for me.

I'm a huge fan of the SD but I'm also a thick wrested ape. It's a finely dressy watch. Definitely not as stealthy as a sub. I would pick the SD but i could understand why that would not be good for everyone.

The sub seems to fit a more active lifestyle while providing a great presence for dressy occasions. I think your best coarse of action would be to spend a day trying on the skydweller at the AD. You will never know until it hits your own personal wrist. Both are great watches. Good luck and let us know.

Just went to AD to try it and it's not as large as I thought
Sleek on wrist,, black is best choice but I am not fan of it on leather although it looks smaller on leather. What a beautiful watch
Still unsure if it's too big
Wish they made it in 40mm
Upgrading from smurf there isn't much choices

It's an upgrade from the point of having more complications and it sounds like you really want one, so go for it.

The Skydweller always seems too big when I see one at the ADs . I couldn't wear that very easily.
For someone wanting to 'trade up' from a Smurf, the obvious serious move is too a platinum DD40. That's a big enough leap for most wallets!
That's really more a move across than up, platinum aside.

I would not. The sky dweller did not sit well on my wrist.

Sky-D is a big watch, and also heavy, heavier than WG Sub or BLRO.

BUT, it is very important to have the bracelet properly sized for your wrist. Then it is EXTREMELY comfortable.

I wear it on my small 6" wrist almost everyday, and never had any comfort issue. I bought the ivory dial one, but to be honest, I find all versions to be beautiful in their own way.

If you are looking for a 40 mm pm watch then how about BLRO?

Great pic and beautiful watch.

I, too, have smallish wrists...how, if I may ask, do you have your bracelet set up? The SKD always fit kind of awkwardly for my tastes.
