Official Rolex Air King ♔ 116900 Owners Club

I don't wanna sound like a watch snob but I checked the forum and came up with nothing in terms of Owners Club of the new model. There's already a club for Air King but this new model has nothing to do with the old one.
OK, let me cut this short and I decided to post a new thread dedicated to this new model. We also have both BLNR and GMT MASTER II Clubs and former one is also a GMT MASTER II too
Well, here's some photographs including a lume shot
Have a good weekend

I'd be happy to post pictures of mine, but the nearest AD's branch manager bought their last one a couple of days before I visited - he was kind enough to let me try it though. That's a 2 hour drive, so I'm not willing to go any further just to save a few weeks.

On the waiting list.....

Cool thread, it's been awhile since I have posted my pictures on TRF so I will participate here...

Still trying to understand the evolution of why Rolex chose to use the 116400 case on the 116900 while using the 3,6,9 from the first gen 214270 on the 116900...

Overall to me the 116900 is a fun watch to own and a piece anyone that is remotely a Rolex fan should own, it's dial is quirky and weird, it has ties to the Bloodhound SSC and totally unlike anything on the market today!

Great pics Sam

I think the new Air-King is the coolest Rolex in ages, makes a great pair with the Milgauss. It is a mash-up on sorts with the last gen Exp1 dial and Milgauss case. IMO it is destined for a short production run and becoming a future cult watch.

This is my first post and first Rolex. There were several things that came together: 65th year on the planet, 35th year of marriage, successful post-retirement business contract renewal. But most of all this watch shouted to me. It's been on my wrist every day since the Air-King was purchased two weeks ago. image.jpg

Future classic. I didn't hesitate to buy one (although my son wears it).

I guess I can't say I'm surprised that there aren't more owners of the 116900... A pleasant surprise to see this thread pop back up...

I like the watch a lot and have tried one at a dealer. However the lack of lumed indicies is a big turn off. Only the triangle at 12 is lumed. Do any other rolexes have such little lume?

I never wear my watch at night so that makes no difference to me.

However I don't really get the lack of lume issue as if you know where 12 is with lume and the hands are lumed, it's still really easy to tell the time....or am I the only one?

One of my old Date just Ref 116334 had no lume at all. In this model, I could also easily see what time it was when Iooked at the dial to know the time. Luminated indices would be a useful though

Bought this and a Daytona C in June. My son wears the airking and my wife the Daytona C . I wear a deepsea that I've owned around five years. Merry Christmas.
