Icon20 First visit to the new 'Rolex only' AD in Melbourne

Well it has been reported that a new Rolex AD has hit Melbourne Australia.

The new dealer is called 'Grima' and sells nothing but Rolex watches.

The shop is situated in what is known as the "Paris" end (exclusive end) of Collins Street in the CBD.

This is the first ever time in Australia that there has been a dedicated Rolex shop open for business.

Once inside the shop one is greeted by an amber relaxing by stylish ambience. With wall to wall Rolex, one feels very comfortable with several separate tables and chairs to sit down and contemplate the merchandise.

Dominique was the lady I first met in Grima and she was extremely helpful and had a very good knowledge of the models. I also met the owner, Mr. Grima and he too made me feel at home in his shop surrounded by dozens and dozens of Rolex watches. They had an excellent range of sports models and ladies models.

It was a great experience and at the end of the day I walked out with a Milgauss GV. This watch is amazingly beautiful, it is really a superb watch, but more about that later.

The Rolex Service Centre is almost straight across the road and as a bonus one is able to take their purchase across to the service centre to have the bracelet adjusted if that be necessary. That's an amazing place too.

Mr. Grima even kindly offered to personally escort me across to the Rolex Service Centre to have the bracelet adjusted.

So all in all an AA++++ experience, but what else would you expect from Rolex......

I must say that all the staff, not just the ones I mentioned, were very friendly and helpful, and at the end of the day, that does mean a lot.

Here's a couple of wrist shots

The green edge of the crystal is exactly how it appears, no photoshop enhancements, it really does stand out

Congrats Steve! Finally! So happy for you.

I'll be back in Melbourne at the end of the year and I look forward to visiting the shop, and of course, hopefully to catch up with you.

Well Otto, please give me time to take a breath, but if I had to give you an answer it would be the SS/PT YM, but I need to take things easy for a bit.

Hi guys, I'll introduce myself later but I thought I would sneak a question in first, while the topic is GV's and OZ. Are AD's in Australia selling the GV for retail? or are they adding a premium.

After a long decision time and research on this forum I have decided to chase down/wait for a GV. So thanks.
