Alan Furman just posted SS GMTIIc's for $7,750.00. They were not offering them at all as of two weeks ago. Swiss Luxury has been offering them for $6,895.00 for some time.
Both of these dealers are selling these above MSRP. After reading many posts about fellow TRF'ers seeing these watches at many AD's in the past weeks, I was assuming production was ramping up and it would become a standard item like subs and DJ's. Do the gray dealers know something we don't with expected supplies? Is there a chance the new subs and all future SS models will be harder to get? I know this topic gets much attention, but it is important since most of us love sports watches and don't like to wait.

Jim, I think that AF and SL are trying to get a few dollars while this model is still "hot" and demand is still slightly above supply. All signs show the 116710 is a standard production watch, so as the hype dies off, and the "I have to have it now" crowd has their wants fulfilled, we will see availability continue to improve and the gray sellers' premiums turn into discounts.
Patience young grasshopper.

I agree with David. At this point, it is unwise, IMO, to buy the GMTc from gray dealers. The local AD's usually have the SS and/or TT versions available at MSRP or slightly below it.

I think it is a regional thing....I've seen several in the DFW area.
I was at the mall the other day and found a small jeweler across the street w/a big "Rolex" sign out front, stopped in, and they had *two* of them used--but were asking MSRP fo rthem! I though this odd, given that I'd seen one in the case at the AD when I picked up my SS Daytona, and had seen another one at a different AD a few weeks prior, but go figure! ![]()

I just came from my AD here in San Diego and they had two sitting in the display case! Let me know if you want, I'll give you some contact info and maybe get you hooked up.

At the premium Alan Furman is asking, sounds like they should be out beating the streets buying them at retail.
