Birth year Buckley 1601
Hello all, I have been looking at nauseaum for a birth year watch (1974) specifically a 1601 with a white Buckley dial. Since I have not been able to locate any info if this watch was even produced during this year, my questions are;
1. Did they make the 1601 in 1974 with the Buckley dial? 2. If not how difficult would it be to purchase a dial and have a competent watch maker install? I'll hang up now and wait for your answers. |

I'm a fan of the painted roman as well, when I wanted to buy one I simply couldn't find a 16XX, watch or loose dial. To my knowledge they did make them in 1974 but any 4 digit ref was impossible to find.
I ended up with a 16030, lovely watch and my first 3XXX movement! Good luck in your search! EDIT: Wow, just checked Chrono24, they had 1135 1601 and three painted Romans on the first page, 70, 71 and one not specified. I would imagine there might be several more. Prices are high. |

Beautiful piece and thanks for the heads up on chrono. I may try to have jacek try to source one for me as he looks like he is trustworthy and deals with some older pieces.

I've purchased from Jacek, top quality dealer and very fair prices. I'm still grateful for my beautiful 16570...
How much do you want it? You could buy a 1601 with the dial but wrong year, buy a '74 with the wrong dial and do minor surgery and sell the bastard child at hopefully no loss. I bring this up because I have done it...more than once. :) |

jvmartin has a Buckley 160x for sale (I spoke to him today about buying another watch from him). I don't recall the specs so send him a PM; he's a trusted seller in my book.

@Fjweld
You can check watchrecon too, as it pulls data from several sites (FS ads). Good luck with your hunt! _______ Instagram: @onthedial |

Thanks all, I've been in contact with jv and he seems very professional and prompt. If he cannot come up with my "pizza order" I'll be reaching out to jacek
Great looking polar btw |
