...my baggy pants. They will simply slide down my waist and to my feet if I let them. They were tight on June 16.

I can't recommend my initial method, as it was rather drastic and as always, anyone should see an MD before taking on a diet.

For five weeks five days a week, I cut back my calories to about half what is needed to stay alive. Two days a week I could eat whatever, just not so much.

Now it's just a matter of not over-eating and making sure that what I do eat and drink is nutritious.

I also didn't add a lot of extra exercise, because I didn't want to maintain a crazy exercise routine for the rest of my life. I mainly do the stuff I normally do in my daily routine and take a walk now and then.

I also just recently added some light weight lifting to tone up my torso and burn a few extra calories. I focus on reps, not weight and I'll up the reps as time goes by.

Basically, I'm just going back to a routine more in line with my younger days, just for an old man, not a kid.

Thanks and congratulations. You're really close to your goal. I still have twenty pounds to go!

Treat yourself once in awhile.

Thanks! I have a theory that things happen when the time is right, but I kind of wish I'd taken up the guitar years ago.

I do recognize that I never had the luxury of so much free time before.

Thank you very much. I think a good name for my diet would be "The Lazy Man's Diet."

A nurse asked me early on what the name of the diet was that I was on that I was losing so much weight. I laughed and told her it was the "GradyPhilpott Diet."

She looked gave me a dubious look and asked, "You came up with this yourself?"

Actually, on November 8, I got a nice deal from my AD on the new BB36. That's my reward.

I'm proud of you Grady! It takes serious focus and self control to accomplish what you've done. If you able to do this, you can do anything else you set your mind to if you carry over the same dedication.
