I have a gorgeous unpolished full set 1655 from 79 which I adore. The only issue I have is that the orange hand has a crack in the lume. I cannot seem to find a decent hand to replace it with that does not cost too much. Talked to the guys at LAWW and they said I should relume the existing hand. Should I do so?

I would have it stabilised from behind.

Personally, I think it looks great just the way it is. I love the character. I wouldn't do anything to it.

I agree on the stabilization recommendation.While it is an interesting and unique look, there is a risk that the hand could degrade from here.

if the hand concerns you this much then either stabilize it from behind or get it relumed. LAWW would be a good choice to perform the work no matter which way you decide.

I've had good results with their hand reluming.

It will only get worse, and flaking tritium could lead to other problems. I'd have LAWW take of it, but I'd also continue my search for a replacement hand. Nice to have a back-up anyway. Good luck.
