Selling box and papers?
I recently found box and papers for a watch I already sold. I have no need now for the box or obviously the papers. I can't get hold of the person I sold the watch too. My question i am going to sell the box with all accessories and I am wondering should I include the papers? Or is this a bad idea to include papers? Everything originates from 1991.

I would keep the papers in case you get hold of him later on.

I wouldn't include the papers because unless a buyer has the exact watch there's no benefit. In fact the only reason I can think of somebody wanting papers alone is to include with a fake watch.
Box is useful though especially to any forum members who bought that era watch alone. |

Selling box and papers?
Well the paper belongs to the watch. If you cant contact buyer than keep it in case you can in the future. Or burn it. Cause someone could use it for another purpose, and create problems for the person who has the watch now.
The box and everything else you can sell no problem :) |

Personally I would wait till I got a hold of buyer or just mail to him. I know I would appreciate that as a buyer and am sure he would too!

Like everyone else said, keep the papers. The box is no big deal.

IMHO i'd keep it all and every few months try to location the new owner. Social media might also be a good way to contact them.

When I say locate, I actually sold to dealer friend. He then sold on and I informed him I found the box and papers. He has now ceased trading and told me he doesn't have any information now on any past clients. So I don't think I have any way of locating the buyer at all.

Agree with those who advise you to keep the box and papers (at least for a reasonable period of time) in the event that you are able to reach the person you sold the watch.
Now.... elephant in the room... and please don't be too quick to judge... But based on multiple other threads on this forum, box and papers add value for many and are a deal breaker for others. Do you just give him the b/p now as a nice gesture, or do you ask to adjust the price of the original sale to reflect a "complete set"? And if so, how much? Just asking. Not making a commentary one way or the other. |

Destroy or keep the papers, sell the boxes. Though I did see a guy selling 3 punched papers for Tudor big blocks on Ebay last night while browsing.
He wanted $175 each. I don't see how that is a good thing for the person who is buying them unless they have the right watch. Just ripe for fraud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
