Grail Delivery Courtesy of DAVIDSW
I always thought I’d be a 1 watch consumer as I’m truly smitten with my DJII smooth/blue stick, but something about this one kept gnawing at me. This was HIGHLY unusual (and frankly quite confusing) as I am a creature of habit - when I find something I like I’ve historically been content to stick with what’s comfortable and what works. A few examples: I’m an avid golfer, but have had the same set of irons for 20 years; I wear the same brand of dress shirt every day for work; same breakfast/coffee every morning, and the list goes on….
Unsurprisingly, I came up with every excuse in the book to talk myself out of the idea of owning Rolex #2 - “I don’t REALLY need another watch”, “I’ll just wait until next year”, “Yes I travel for work, but is a GMT function really a reason to buy this?” “The colors will clash,” “I could spend this money elsewhere”, etc. Well, we’ve all seen this movie before - resistance proved futile. After a few swings and misses with a number of TRF listings (cold feet from me, watch already sold, etc.), the stars aligned and this week I saw a listing pop from DAVIDSW right here on TRF (which conveniently coincided with Rolex #1 being in for service since Thanksgiving). I now know how Wayne Campbell felt about his Fender Strat “Excalibur” - she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine….(apologies for iPhone pics) IMG_2039.JPGIMG_2040.JPGIMG_2041.JPG Count me as another amongst those recently scratching PM itches with the stunning 116719BLRO. I’m truly blown away by both the timeless aesthetic of the GMT and the incomparable feel of gold on the wrist and echo the sentiments of fellow TRFers who espoused the virtues of this (to me) modern Rolex grail of grails. One final note - there is no shortage of praise and endorsement for DAVIDSW in our community, so I’ll merely say he FAR exceeded my already lofty expectations. EVERY email/text I sent him was responded to in under an hour (often within 5 or 10 minutes) and he was exceedingly patient with my elementary questions and (now proven) unnecessary transaction anxiety. A true professional in every sense – thank you David. Here’s to a happy, healthy and safe holiday season to all! IMG_2044.JPG |

Brian, Congrats on your spectacular BLRO! Just a stunning watch and on my grail list. I really like white gold and how it looks and feels on the wrist. DavidSW seems to be one of the go-to-guys for trusted TRF sellers. Wear it in good health! Cheers!

Beauty Brian, BIG congratulations
Funny maybe it's something in the name we share, but I'm also pretty routine when it comes to certain things .... I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day, wear only one brand of jeans. The list does go on |
