What is the perfect 'Rolex by the Pool'?

So the question is, what would be your pick of rolex for a sunshine holiday/vacation in a nice place for the day time?

Not necessarily an all rounder, so don't be bound by the watches versatility in terms of evening wear. Assume you are bringing one watch for day time and another for the evening.

A watch for by the pool, on the beach, wearing with shorts and a shirt/t-shirt, having lunch etc.

What would you pick out of the following...

1. 116655 Yacht Master with Oysterflex
2. 116613LB Bluesy Two-Tone
3. 214270 Exp 1
4. 116622 Yacht Master Plat/SS
5. Other

Yachtmaster. Either one. It's basically what everyone wants in a Rolex: a sporty piece with dress undertones that is great for watersports. Everyone wants a Submariner because of Bond, but really the Yachtmaster is what most people are looking for. I'm glad they are expanding the line. The YM was my first Rolex love and I regret doing the obvious thing and picking a Sub over it.

The Yachtmaster was made to be worn by the pool. It's basically the watch you wear in the boat club, on a cruise, by the pool. I will commend your choices however because the two tone Submariner has a lot of similarities in aesthetics to the Yachtmaster and has that great nautical look with the blue and gold.

Either YM would be great. But to me, SD4K would be the perfect.

All of them can certainly take it... I'll say 116655, just because I've been craving it lately.

All of them would work out just fine. If the pool was drained and you were skateboarding then I would go with the Explorer.

They could all handle it, but I think the 116655 was made for this environment.

Agreed Larry. It's the standout piece for me in this context.

You're not supposed to wear Rolex anywhere near a pool. The chlorine vapors will dry out the seals and damage the watch.

I believe Neil displayed the appropriate chunk of gold required poolside.
