Two tone Daytona vs two tone yachtmaster 2 vs steel yachtmaster2
Just wondered what everybody's thoughts were on this? I'm torn between the YM2 steel and everose or the two tone Daytona or steel yachtmaster 2.
Pros and cons list for me is a tough call. Anybody have one or 2 of these and comment on versatility etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Two questions come to mind- any preference on bigger vs. smaller? And, what other watches would you have in your collection?

Size isn't an issue. I already have omega planet ocean 45. And datejust ii. So size is varied anyway. Guess that answers part two as well. I suppose what I find with size already is that the planet ocean doesn't easily fit under a cuff. Guess the YM would be similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With your ink, I dig the black dial Daytona although personally, I'm not a Daytona lover. I had the YM II two tone for a stretch and it was great. I'd take it back if I could. There's a pretty big price difference between the watches you're considering- if the two tone Daytona looked as good on me as it did on you, I'd do that. With the leftover coin, you're a good ways towards something else. When it comes to the YM II two tone, I'd wait until I could swing a gold GMT so that would be out of the running.
The most versatile to most would be the YM II stainless because two tones, for some, tend to be less versatile. I had a tt sub blue and found I wouldn't wear it with say a waxed cotton belstaff jacket or more rugged style clothes nor the color black. Not everyone would feel this way but I did. |

Out of your choices I would go YM2 TT.
Have you considered 116613LN? That's the best of all worlds. |

I daily that very TT Daytona. Suit, shorts, doesn't matter-- versatility is subjective, but I think it goes well with a ton!

For that particular Daytona...I would go YM2.

ive had 3 Daytonas over the years and the TT version just doesnt do it for me... it almost as if it was never intended to be a TT but they made one anyway... personal opinion that it just doesnt suit being a TT
YMII on the other hand looks beautiful as a TT watch (i have one) If you go a Daytona go stainless with arabic dial or something along those lines... YMII works nicely in stainless (the blue breaks it up nicely) or go the TT as the rose gold just looks the part on it

I would also go with the SS Yachtmaster ii! It is massive and virile lol! Will fit your style better I am sure. I used to have the RG Daytona but really hated the gold bezel bc it was so prone to scratches and the lettering faded easily. The Daytona looks good when it is brand new, not so much after the years. Now if a TT with ceramic bezel is to be released at Baselworld this year, then that's another topic!!

ilove the YM2 in stainless or yellow gold. not a fan of the 2 tone, personally.... I own the SS version. The size is so much better than the daytona IMHO.
Looks liek you already have a DJ2- so you have the 41mm size covered! get what you like most! :D |

Of the two you mentioned I would go Daytona but I don't like watches bigger than 41mm. This is the TT I chose recently and I love it!!

To be honest, I really like the ym ii but that rose gold was the reason I didn't go with it. If it was yellow gold tt I would prefer it much better. Hence, I chose the bluesy tt sub the sunburst dial is a beauty.

YM2 is nice but I'd wait to see if a TT DayC is released first.

Thanks everyone. A lot of good feedback. A lot of mixed feelings. If I'm honest. I like the YM ii two tone probably the most, however for that money I could be patient and possibly for not much more get a pre owned full rose gold Daytona. I like the rose gold more than the YG but I feel like a Daytona is a good add to my collection. I dare say if the Daytona was in RG TT that would be the one. Unfortunately the world isn't that kind!

Two years later and I’m still undecided.
