Looks Like We're Going To Be Getting New Ceramic Bezels That GLOW - New Rolex Patent

Just saw the new Rolex patent application they put out. It looks like the Bezel will soon be Polished Smooth and Glowing.

He's part of the PDF for everyone on TRF to check out:

Rolex files many patents. Don't expect to see this right away. At least temper your expectations.

Btw pelagos already does

Great find! Fig. 7 does looks like the SeaDweller bezel.

Glowing bezel and lume dial.

Yes, definitely a Sea Dweller bezel

The Sub and Pelagos minute markers are longer and closer to half the length of the larger 5 min markers. These are the short SD minute markers

Nice piece of info. If a fully lumed bezel Rolex comes out, I might just be tempted to ditch all my 5-digits!

Nice. This is one of the reasons why I really like the Tudor Pelagos. The lume is just out of this world. Unfortunately I had a hard time getting the pelagos to fit perfectly on bracelet but I may have to give it another chance soon.

This is no indication of anything... 1st of all patents are filed years in advance; 2nd of all they are just ideas not final products.

interesting indeed. thanks for posting OP.

looks like Rolex needs their own tech for this as they're going in a different direction that Tudor did with the Pelagos' ***ceramic bezel that uses injected superluminova – rather than applying the lume to the bezel after it has been cast, the superluminova is injected into the ceramic, which has the effect of making it thicker and brighter. Tudor has also borrowed a trick from Rolex in using blue superluminova (although it avoids the Chromalight terminology of Rolex’s dive watches), as it’s the last colour to remain visible at depth.***

The Omega Seamaster 300 had a luminous bezel insert in 1968.......

Sea Dweller with a green dial and luminous bezel sounds like a winner to me!

Something like the BP Fifty Fathoms or Pelagos would be awesome. Rolex lume could do with a boost. And add some AR while they're at it.
