Snowmaggedon Thread

I imagine a lot of us are stuck inside today.

We are set with flashlights, candles and a ton of food. All for one whole day.

But the fireplace is lit, the wife is in a lovely mood and the dogs have a path that I need to keep shoveling.

Truth be told, it's a nice excuse to just take it easy today.

I thought it would be nice to post some pics.

The picture does this storm no justice.

I've never seen flakes so big.

Looks like NYC dodged a bullet. Much less snow than predicted. Stay safe everyone.

Oh man Seth. That's just nuts.
Although there's only about 4-6 inches on the ground right now I still can't get up my sloping driveway without sliding. I was going to get the newspaper but decided it wasn't worth it.

Man I feel for you guys. And your car sitting in the snow makes me feel sorry for it too :-)

Weather is brutal here as well

Wow. Is that what you wake up to everyday? Amazing.

And yeah, just a one car garage over here. And my wife rules the roost, so her car is in the garage.

I've already cleaned mine off twice.

Ha. No joke, I'll be doing that for certain.

I'm pretty set on an F Type R. And I'm looking for something with about 5k miles on it. So the search is on for the right configuration. Perfect day for it.

We were supposed to get 12-18" but the storm got pushed more your way.
A few inches now covered with ice. Snowblower will get its maiden use though
Good luck up there Seth

The yard looks beautiful brother.

We are in a lull right now, but expecting quite a bit more.

I can't wait to go romping around.

How does the new ride do in deep snow?

I'm sad to say I won't find out.

It's my only gripe about the car. I really do appreciate a go anywhere do anything vehicle. The RRS would have had zero problems.

But pros and cons to everything I suppose, as the everyday drive on the X5 is far smoother and more comfortable.

Based on my research, to even take the 50i out with her racing tires on it would be complete folly.

Once these go, I found a nice set of 4 season performance tires that have excellent reviews.

Sadly, for now I'm going to need to keep the beast in the driveway.

You've got the right tires for the 99% of the time you'll be driving.

With that much snow my buddies and I would be toboggan surfing behind the F250. I miss winter wonderland occasionally. But then I remember the commute in that weather and I'm happy to live below the snow line.

I was hoping for a good foot plus, I love running around in the snow and so does my dog.
It's actually picked up a ton right now. Big flakes coming down in a hurry. Some potential for a few more inches for sure

It froze once this year (hard freeze) about 22 degrees and 2 (light freeze) Ive run the A.C. the winter more than heater. My neighbor next door is a native and she said this was one of the warmest winters in Houston area in her 52 years. I would like to see some snow!

Yeah man. It's a total beast. And super sexy looking.

And they don't come in a manual which is better for my back.

Going to take my time on this. Ive already found people willing to negotiate more than I would have expected.

It's got terrible resale. So I figure buy with 5-10k on it, and save literally tens of thousands.
