Question about polished 16610
Hey guys, I just got this 16610 yesterday. I absolutely love the thing. It came with complete kit...and I mean COMPLETE kit. Boxes, papers, tags, anchor.....every last piece.
The only thing that bothers me (slightly) about the watch is that it appears someone brushed over the chamfers at some point. I believe this is indicative of people using a polishing cloth, as its hard to polish a clean edge with those. I don't think it was aggressively polished, because there isn't much evidence of that on the rest of the watch. My question is this, by the looks of the pics below, would you say I'm correct? If so, I've heard that ABC watchworks is great at re-cutting chamfers that were brushed over. Anyone had that done and have before and after pics? Thanks guys!!! |

Doesn't look too bad to me. I would leave it as is and enjoy it.

X2, when it's time for a service they can detail your watch at an RSC or independent.

ABC or LA Watchweks do a great job refinishing the chamfer/bevel.....but I would leave that alone. It looks like good worn down chamfer naturally.

Nice piece. I would leave as is, until you decide to service it. Doesn't look over polished at all. Is there any service history with the watch?

Congrats on the sub. Do you know where it was serviced? Perhaps, you can reach out to them and get records of the service.

Yep, already bought it.....and love it. Was just curious. The combination of COMPLETE kit, price, and overall condition made this one a watch I couldn't pass up.
Did you look at the other pics? It's better than my close ups convey. |

Every time somebody buys a 16610 there is always the questions about lugs....and people wonder why I paid extra and bought a nos V serial. No danger it was polished.
My advice to anyone looking at a pre Ceramic is buy nos if you can find it. |
