A frivolous question for the experts

All Rolex watches with a date function, show 28th as the date.

I say all, all except Cellini.

The Cellini Date shows the 11th and the new Cellini Moonphase shows the 12th.

Anyone know why?

Double digits fills the date window, and the 28th can feel like whatever month the viewer is looking at the picture in. I don't know, but I suspect it has to do more with the creative director of the shoot vs a rolex policy.

IMHO the 28 date could be it shows the largest surface area of a date from 1-31 so fills the cyclops window. And in Chinese its a lucky number and the sound of it in Mandarin and Cantonese means easy fortune plus Asia is one of Rolex biggest markets.

Many of my previous luxury car clients are Asian and numerology is such a big deal that specific combinations or numerals on license plates are often in demand.
