New Old Stock / Unworn Condition
Hello everyone, I've been lurking on this forum for awhile, but is my first time posting.
I was curious if anyone could tell me the definition of the listing term, "New Old Stock / Unworn Condition?" I saw a Submariner on DavidSW's website, and there was a price difference between two identical Sub 116610LN, whereas the one that was listed as New Old Stock / Unworn Condition, was cheaper. Anyways, hope everyone is having a nice week! C |

Pretty self explanatory really. Means the piece he has for sale is like new, and comparable to a piece that might have been sitting in a dealers inventory for a long time but unsold / unworn. Basically describing it to appear to have been worn very little if at all. Kind of like a "demo piece in a dealers case".
Hope that makes sense. Cheers! |

I have always thought it meant an older model, no longer in production, that is in never worn condition. |

In any event, the OP should probably have the seller confirm if the piece was ever actually worn, or if it was say a demo piece in a dealers case, or a safe queen of some collector, etc. I could very well be it's brand spanking new with tags and stickers in place. Who knows? Cheers |

Great question posed by OP. If the term is taken literally, it refers to something that never sold at retail. I guess like you say, need to check with seller to see what they define it as. |

The OP should simply call David and ask, as I'm sure David would confirm either way. Cheers |

Usually with stickers still in place that's my understanding

I just looked at David's website. Look closely at the description. The lower cost sub has the warranty card dated June 2015. It also doesn't have stickers. The more expensive one still has all stickers and card isn't dated. Hope this helps.

I was actually on his site earlier and saw the NOS
This one simply means a discontinued model in brand new condition just as if you went to the AD today. It would have everything box, warranty card, hang tags etc. It would also have stickers and never been worn. This is why its over 3k more than the used one he has. The only thing I would not know unless asking David is the warranty card named and dated. Also as someone mentioned these usually show as someone bought it years ago and put it in safe hoping it would go up in value. |

Hi C! Welcome to the forum.
New Old Stock models refers to discontinued models and will have their factory protective stickers in place (if they were produced with them). The warranty paper/card would be filled out with the original sale details if not blank. Unworn watches could could refer to a New Old Stock watch or a current model with protective stickers still in place. The warranty information may or may not be filled out with the original sale details. In any case, inspect the condition of the watch, papers and box.

"New old stock" doesn't necessarily mean that the model has been discontinued. It means that the item has never been worn (like new), but isn't current. For example, an AD may have an "M" serial Rolex that never sold. It would still have all stickers in tact, warranty card, etc. It just never sold. It is "new old stock."

All this is a tad confusing. I talked with a friend who works in an AD. She says they sell every steel Submariner they get and they never discount them. That implies none go to grey market from this very large AD operation.

Here is a crazy idea. Call David and ask what the difference is.
