I have this watch since last August and my 3 business partners have had this since last week. We have 2 blue and 2 black. The guys with the blue face say the blue is the most beautiful. The guys with the black face say its the most beautiful.

Since I have the blue face- it obviously is the better looking of the two. :)

What feedback do you want? Finally Patek is starting to makes some watches for us larger gentlemen- Im 6'4" and anything smaller than 42mm just doesnt feel right.

The platinum is nice. The face is clean and easy to read. Its a gorgeous piece that I cherish and its my favorite piece right now in my collection.

Anyone willing to share what a fair price would be from an AD? PM me if you prefer and thanks in advance!

I agree with others that the 5905 is a fabulous watch for someone looking for an automatic platinum watch that has 2 different complications. It is best for those with a larger wrist and don't mind the thickness.

The 5905 was in relatively short supply until beginning of this year, where supply has caught up with demand and has since surpassed the demand. This is good for those looking to purchase a watch today compared to a year ago. You should not expect to pay full retail for this watch in the US. I would say you should aim for 20% off US retail price.

I usually choose the blue dial if one is available, but in this case it's tough because I like that the aperture windows and the dial are both black vs. the blue dial, which has white aperture windows. Both are winners, though.

I vote black obviously. Also agree with Jon on the price but I haven't seen many new for sale. If you want a larger thicker watch it's the perfect Patek, it's basically been my daily watch for a little over a year.

Do you find the thickness with the weight of platinum top heavy or uncomfortable?

Not at all, with the right strap size (I changed to a short) and the pin buckle I get a good fit. I have a fairly small wrist, 6 3/4, but larger watches look better on me, smaller look a little too dainty of feminine if that's the right word.

I like the blue. Both are nice though. Really sits well on the wrist and makes a big statement.

It is an awesome watch but a bit too thick for my taste, nevertheless I would go black on this one

I have seen both and prefer the blue. It would be on my list if not for my 5960 steel. I prefer the 5905P in appearance but like the size and weight of the steel version. Fits more comfortably on my smaller wrist

Blue is just so cool. It's not a light blue- it changes color- its mystical. It's adaptive. You can dress it up or dress it down. Love this piece:

I bought it in black.
Of course I like also the blue.
I chose the black for the detail of the small aperture (black on a black dial).
You can take a look at the picture on instagram :#thedandywatch

I owned it in blue, but the incongruity of the white date windows led me to sell it. I think I paid $57,000 USD for it about a year ago, for the poster who asked.

It’s a tough decision between blue and black, because - as others have noted - either way you feel you’re losing something. The black isn’t quite as “special” as the blue, but the date windows fit. The blue is pretty enthralling, but the white spaces break it up and drove me nuts.
