Is the 116710 BLNR due to be discontinued?

A friend of mine mentioned that a reliable source had mentioned that the 116710 BLNR will be discontinued very soon. Has anyone else heard this rumour?

It's such an amazing piece that I can not see why they would discontinue it?

Have not heard that. One of the best selling models so why would they?

The same logic doesn't fit for the new Daytonas.

in the UK "discontinued" is often confused with not available

I doubt it will be discontinued until the gmt receives a redesign.

No, have not heard that rumor.

No reason to discontinue one of their most popular watches.

It's probably just another sales tactic that either an ad or a grey market dealer is using.

If the replacement will be an SS Black and Red (coke) then it is a possibility for its discontinuance.

I'll be happy to get a BLNR, but with that rumor, the waiting list might get longer. :(

Maybe in 2023. 10 year production run sounds about right. My guess is the all black GMT gets discontinued first, possibly for a SS coke bezel

Whenever Rolex develop something new, they will put it on the precious metal models first. Unless there is a new gold GMT with new design and new caliber, you won't see a new SS GMT model.

I thought I recalled that the BLNR was going to be a "special edition" when it was released. If they don't discontinue it, perhaps they will move it to white gold only like the BLRO. I for one never expected the Batman to last.

That would make sense, since Rolex is owned by a charity and is "not for profit." lol
