sold my collection and ordered my Grail

Within the next few days my grail watch will arrive, which I will gladly introduce here.

Lately, I've noticed that collecting and hoarding watches is no longer my thing. In the last two years, I have developed into a one watch guy. So it seemed to me the right time to completely dissolve my modest collection. My last two watches leave the house tomorrow. I am a bit wistful, but also relieved. Simplify is my motto.

If everything works out, I'll get my one and only next week! It will be a valuable watch that I can wear every day and on every occasion. For me it embodies emotion, perfection, and understatement. No, it's not a Patek...

(to be continued)

Exactly. BLNR hardly worthy of selling a whole Rolex collection for. Unless their 34mm OP’s

Congrats on the purchase! I look forward to seeing some pics. I wear 1 watch everyday and I do not miss the other watches. I still have them but was thinking of liquidating....

I had too broad of a variety, many cheap ones, a few good ones, my last two were a Sinn Flieger chronograph and a Rolex 15210. No comparison to the one to come...

I hope to one day have the fortitude to do something like this. I really want to be a one watch guy but my heart doesn't agree right now.

I was the same as you with a collection of watches then realized that I only used to wear two of them so I scaled down to my two favorite watches

This is an interesting topic. I like many watches, but somehow dislike the idea of having several. Besides the obvious financial aspect (of having multiple that are not gaining value) I'm not sure why I dislike it. Maybe it's some form of OCD

I have two I'm kinda happy with. They both have a few unique traits that justify it for me.
But I'm thinking of adding a 3rd and staying at that. Probably a Sub Date.

I applaud your decision, a very brave step.

I wanted to reduce to three pieces myself but I just can't, too many memories. There's a the little story behind each watch and significant events associated with some of them, like the birth of my children for instance. I love the idea of simplicity but It'd be too painful to let them go.

understated so WG, maybe the new WG Daytona on Oysterflex.

At least that would near the top of my list for an only watch.

Smurf? I could never be a one-watch-guy but if I had to, it would be the smurf.

Sometimes I am thinking in this direction, sell all and go for the PM SkyD, but not yet ready to do so ...

Congrats - look forward to seeing it! I'll guess it's one of the PM Daytona's. Whatever it is I'm sure it's going to be amazing. Can't wait!

Fantastic thinking. I've been on the same page as you for a long time, gave away the cheaps, sold the decents and ended up with my Yacht Master. Now I'm waiting for a Daytona C and the YM will be handed to my wife.

Less is more!
