[HELP PLEASE!] BLUE or BLACK SUB TT 116613LN vs LB

This is my first post, but I know it's not the first time that someone has authored a similar inquiry.

I currently own a TT black and gold dial 116613 LN Sub. I have owned it for 3 years. I'm in my mid 30s, olive skin, middle eastern...I look great in black. I have salt and pepper hair.

Recently, I've been thin that I made the wrong choice, at least not more seriously condiering the bluesy. I could have purchased the sunburst instead of the black dial, but at the time, I though NO WAY...I don't have blonde or red hair and I'm not white and I'm not 50 plus. It wasn't even a viable option, and I wanted a sub, not SS bc I wanted something flashier. The color of my skin and hair have absolutely a lot to do with it, because if I were light with whiter skin without question I would go with the blue from the getgo.

Now, I realize the bluesy pops more, it is arguably more iconic, the blue color is unlike any other blue that rOLEX makes, it's a different hue, etc.

My friend also makes fun of my LN and calls it a bumble bee...I raps to the Black and Yellow song by Wiz....perhaps he is just jealous bc he has a SS pre ceramic bezel sub :)

Options: I could swap it but my wife gave it to me as a gift and I don't think that's right. MY WIFE DOES NOT like the blue face at all...with that said, assume that she is on board. She hasn't seen it in person really.

I could purchase another watch and have Two TTs, but that maybe stupid....no one does that...I really don't have any other watches in my collection and the two are so damn similar....

The tough thing is there are no right answers. BUT I would appreciate some thoughtful feedback from others who own or have owned the watches, and some ideas from you all generally.

I will not be offended, regardless of the response. I would really appreciate all input.

Thanks!!!!

Black is more classy. Blue is more flashy. IMHO.

Neither is better. Both are beautiful.

Some insight

I like the blue on paper but it doesn't suit me. It's too flashy and shouty for my tastes so I'd go black out of the two.

However, if it were me personally, I would have neither because I don't like TT or YG. Just my 2c/1.5p.

Hi Lawisme

What a great gift from your wife :-)
Lucky you.

Personally, if I were in your position, I would keep the LN and go get the LB as a second Rolex.

For a daily wearer and unique watch, I'd keep the LN.

Good luck

I'm on the verge of just that. I do feel guilty, but I don't want to seel it or trade it in for a used and lose the money, it just seems stupid. Thanks for your input

In pre-ceramic days, this dilemma could be solved by simply swapping the bezel and dial out.. sadly, modern bezels and dials are not so readily available.

I avoided Bluesy for a long time but always admired it. I avoided it because people I knew had the same watch. I got the Black one and loved it.. Do I prefer the Bluesy I have now instead? No.. they both have something the other has not, they are very different yet so alike. Buy a Blusey, keep your Black..

I would not buy two TT Submariners. I would take the TT LN and go get a YG Submariner 116618LB and have one over the top watch. I have owned several and they are great.

In this case I would take the Bluesy and the 116610LN.

I'm a big fan of the Bluesy, esp if you live in a sunny climate, and believe me it is not just for 55 year old red heads in this strange profiling of yours.

You obviously liked the watch and wore it for a long time - and your wife gave it to you - never change that watch! Keep it for your kids.

Your friend seems annoying - change friends!

Finally, I actually don't get watches my wife don't like. She has the final vote. She has stand my idiotic watch hobby, why would I irritate her more? Find something else you love with a blue dial.

The YG is not an option. Please post how much money you think a person shoukd have in his savings before buying a second rolex. Consider a new born, mortgage, mid 30s

Best to focus on those things and just flip for a Bluesy if you decide to so do. Besides YG is only for those rare blondes with olive skin and purple Targaryen eyes.

I'd go with dial that is special towards that specific model. Since Green was offered, I bought it. Go with the special dial if you want to stand out, stay with the black if you want to blend in. Hope that helps!

[HELP PLEASE!] BLUE or BLACK SUB TT 116613LN vs LB

I love the. Blue Sunburst dial. I really want to get a YG blue at some point but the TT is imho classic Rolex.

As for ur wife she won't be wearing it. Lol. Try that argument. My ex HATED my corvette for 6 months. I think a lot had to do with all the time and money I spent on it. After I put a supercharger on it I took her to the track one time and I hardly got to drive it after that. And it was a blessing for her that her father was a Lt in the NJ state police bc I thought I drove it fast. She even took some lessons and really started enjoying it. Tastes change.

As others have said, there are no wrong choices here. The blue is beautiful, but with the two tone, I LOVE the black bezel and dial. It looks amazing.
