I couldn't do it.

In the spirit of trying to simplify my life and collection for an impending move, I took 4 watches to sell off today. This one however I realized I could not part with. I purchased in 2006 and has been in light rotation with countless others. My F serial GMT2. It was my only GMT and I didn't wanna be without a GMT and I know I couldn't replace the Pepsi easily.

In the spirit of a true WIS addict, I couldn't leave without securing another watch that'll arrive Friday. I'll be down to 3 Rolex and 2 Panerai and I'll hold their a while I hope.

So glad you decided to hold onto the GMT . Some watches come & go but there are some which are just too special to part with .

Very wise - I would never sell mine either and for many years it was my one and only watch.

I couldn't do it.

5-digit GMT's are very desirable and I think you made a smart move.

I purchased my 16710 a month ago from the original owner, who owned it for almost 2 decades and kept the boxes, warrant cert, and AD receipt in his name. While I never asked why he was selling, I always ponder why he did. I feel like I'd never part with such a classic reference in great condition, especially one that purchased new from an AD. Then again, "bonding" with a first-owned watch could be a WIS thing. People end up in different situations and do things for different reasons.

Looking forward to the incoming!

hi TS, i feel the font on your insert looks a bit off with a 'heavy top' for the numbers 2, 12 and 22.
i don't recall ever seeing no pinhole come with those fonts and some fake inserts are known to be 'heavy top' for the 2s....
did you buy your watch new in 2006? i don't recall seeing F series dating so late into 2006 as well..

I purchased at reputable retailer in 2006 as LNIB. After reading your post I looked up examples of the 2 font. I can convince my self of seeing it both ways. Anyway, took it to my AD today and they inspected watch and matched my serial #s to paperwork and looked it over otherwise. I went ahead and sent it for service and they'll sort it out. I learn something everyday. Thanks for your input.
