1964 GMT Warranty Card Question
I've recently bought a GMT reference 1675 with case number 1,08X,XXX dating it to 1963/64.
I came with 'original' paperwork dated August 1964 stamped 'Watches of Switzerland'. The style of the ink and printing would all suggest the warranty card is genuine and matching the age of the watch. The issue is the 'Watch No' is showing 765484. Should this not match the case number? Somebody has suggested it could be the movement number? Any help on this would be appreciated. P.S. I was aware of the discrepancy before purchasing! |

Paper isn't original to your watch. If the movement number happens to be 765484 (not a movement number I am familar with) it would be the wrong booklet and wrong place for it. Also, the date and jeweler stamps are on the wrong sides of the page. In addition, a 765,XXX serial dates the watch to 1961 so I would also be suspect with a 1964 dated booklet and late sales date, but anything is possible as they say.
