Am I the only 1 who does this??

I wear my Rolex to the gym. Got the Daytona C about 1 month ago and haven’t worn any of my other watches since then. So Daytona C in the gym for the past month.

Never would be too paranoid about accidentally dinging it.

I think im what i call “watch aware.” Been wearing my Sub & gmt to the gym for years. Never any issues. And the same with the Daytona. No issues.

Perfect example of how basic punctuation (or lack there of) can reverse the meaning of a sentence.

Cheap shot and not cool. Dude might be dyslexic or it could be that his first language isn’t English.

If we’re going back to school here it’s actually ‘thereof’, not ‘there of’

No, You're missing the point. It's lazy writing, and it's all over this forum. I'm dyslexic and sure I make mistakes but I know what a period is and so does everyone else. Many here seemingly just don't care. (Padi) And I'm pretty sure periods are universal across multiple languages and varying levels of English comprehension. It's not a grammatical slip. It's just lazy. Period.

Timex Ironman for me. Just way too many opportunities for metal to bang into your watch at the gym.

I wouldn't let that thing within a mile of all that gym equipment.

Of course, my luck says that if there is anything to bang a watch on, I'll find it.

Honestly i dont even think about it. Its just the normal routine i guess. Only time i think about it is when it gets the occasional glance or 2.

I wear gloves at the gym and anything else on the wrist gets in the way- but I know what you mean about DaytonaC... mine is getting all the wrist time these days. So hard to switch to the next in the rotation.. so I’m not! For my sized wrist, the size and fit are near perfection

My trainer said I could wear gloves only if they match my purse.

I wear both Sub and Speedy at the gym (well, not at the same time.) Though I would put the Daytona C at a different level.

Its akin to wearing a suit to the gym!! Why not go with appropriate watch for the gym? Something like G-shock/Fitbit/Apple watch?

I dont have any of those watches. Not to sound like a tool but I only have Rolex & cartier. So the appropriate watch in the gym for me is whatever watch i happen to wear that day.

And the suit comment is definitely not a good analogy. I may wear a suit once or twice a year. And believe me i try to avoid those occasions whenever i can. Lol

You don’t have a gym suit?

In all seriousness though, I feel metal bracelets restrict my wrist movement too much when handling heavy stuff, let alone at the gym. So usually strap my watch around my water bottle. We have our own gym at work, so not too concerned about anyone taking it.

I wear my watches in the ocean and with pretty much anything I do. I would not wear mine to the gym as it's just a little too high risk of getting it damaged in a stupid way. Call me crazy, but if I lost my Submariner Date in the ocean because the bracelet broke, I'd have an easier time dealing with that than if I smashed the crystal by bumping it into a bar at the gym.

Carry on. It's the doors and door knobs you have to watch out.

Can't say that I do. Mine is about 7 years away. Do you wear it when you hit the showers?

Probably not. But I think that's a bit abusive. Not being overly careful is one thing, but wearing it in the gym, some of the lifting (wrist) movements may stretch the bracelet. I have done that to my beater, a TAG, long time ago. Plus, I find it pretty uncomfortable wearing a watch that will move around during work out.
