Would like to see platinum Day Date in person
I have never seen either of the following watches in person, but would like to. If you have seen one at a local dealer recently, I would appreciate it if you would let me know where. (anywhere in the US, Eastern Canada or the UK please)
- Platinum Day Date, president, domed bezel, ice blue dial (no waves) with 8+2 factory diamonds - Platinum Day Date, president, domed bezel, ice blue dial (no waves) with Roman or Arabic numerals Thank you in advance. |

The Rolex Store in South Coast Plaza has multiple DD1 and DD2 in Platinum, Ice Blue Dial with and without diamonds.
They will let you try them all on and will set you up with a mirror for the admiring. Pretty sweet if you get a chance. Good Luck.

I was just on a business trip to Canada today and saw both of the platinum watches I had never previously seen before. The authorized dealer offered me 20% off without my even asking. The Canadian tax is high (13%) but the Canadian dollar is only 81 cents US. I do not know what the US customs duties would be coming home.
The MSRP in Canada is only about 5% higher than it is in the US -- it was a bargain. |

Most AD will not stock Platinum. You have to go to some of the bigger AD's around, places in Chicago, NYC, Las Vegas (in The Wynn, as mentioned), etc. In Canada you will find them always in stock in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and likely Montreal. Tax in places in Western Canada is 5% while in Eastern Canada it can be as high as 13%... so it is not worth buying in Toronto, or Montreal.
They are a sight to behold. And me and chicagowatchman are all too happy to show them off! |
