What do you all think of vintage Tudors?

Fairly new here (although have been watching for some time) and very active on other watch forums around the world (i hate registering as I can't stay away then!!!) and just wondered what we all thought of vintage Tudors here? Not so much the new stuff but the older ones?

I have a mint 60's snowflake with just beautifully dated dial, bezel and hands and all original. I'm keeping it for my sons 21st birthday (15 years to go....) and just wondered how this kind of watch was viewed by 'Rolex' guys...oh and it cost a hell of a lot more than some Rolex so guess its not money related the question!

Well?

Jason

Looks very nice indeed Jason - any more info on the solid link Oyster that it's wearing though, is it a Tudor or Rolex bracelet?

There is a big Tudor following on TRF. I personally would love a Tudor collection.

Don't forget to add it to the Tudor database:

How come that Tudor doesn't read Rolex on the dial - must be a fake dial????

Just kidding, that is one sweet, vintage Tudor you have, I'm jealous.

Cheers it's even nicer in the flesh. Its a 7021/0. The watch was built in 1968 and is, together with the no-date model 7016/0 a very famous and rare Tudor reference - they both were delivered to the French "Marine Nationale". The 7021/0 was produced for not more than two years. It is in all original condition, it has a NOS gen Tudor Plexi with the short bevel. The dial is the best I have seen, it is all Tritium and snow-white - just amazing. The hands are matching perfectly and are also Tritium. The bezel insert is no modern replacement but an old blue insert in NOS condition. The bracelet is also in NOS condition, no stretch. The watch is all genuine. The movement has been taken great care of - it was serviced at Rolex and runs extremely well. You just barely have to touch the crown - and it will spin up immediately. The original, highly sought after "roulette datewheel" is still in place and looking perfect - it alternates from red to black. Its a keeper for sure!

Vintage Tudors are some of my favorites! I'm sometimes more interested in getting a closer look at a Tudor versus a Rolex if I see either out in the wild. We need to get Tudor back in the States. Great watches guys!

Did have three at one time Al, all had Rolex on Dial one was in pink gold. But that one was signed around the six oclock sub seconds. Rolex Watch Company with the Tudor with a long tail on the T on the main dial at 12 oclock.

I have a wonderful tudor oyster prince ND with a pie pan dial oyster case but unique lugs. I do like tudor but when their prices are 3/4 or more of an equivalent rolex why?

I agree. The blue snowflake is such a unique and distinct example of the Sub family. One of these days one will be sitting proudly on my wrist.....................one of these days.
