I've had many excellent experiences with Watchmakers International in Arlington, TX.

Another vote for Tommy Taylor, R.W.T. on the forum. He serviced my 60 year old Datejust and did a fantastic job! Very interesting guy to talk to about vintage. He knows these older watches.

I would try ABC or LA. I did not have a good experience with Rik.

LA Watchworks here in Los Angeles would be my recommendation.

I can also very much recommend Tommy Taylor (rolexwatchtime@att.net), who contributes here often. He's in Austin.

I've had good results with LAWW, Watchmakers Int., and the former Rolex Service Center in San Francisco...now The Independent Service Center of SF...run by Giovanni Passalacqua. Call them all up and speak to them about their current work flow and when you could expect your watch back. And get their basic price for a full service. Don't worry about sending it through the mail...Giovanni only wants US Registered Mail...it is slower...but it comes with the highest insurance rates and it has to be signed for by every person who takes possession of the package. I don't think you will get that kind of protection from any other source. Good luck.

Is the change something recent? I had a Tudor serviced by them exactly a year ago and they gave me a full factory warranty.

Very subjective question. I'm sure there are many competent and trustworthy watchmakers in Florida. I would seek out a local watchmaker and build upon a relationship there.

What he said. And if you have doubts, post the name and ask for experiences first. Good luck!!!

This man speaks the truth.

There are many watchmakers across the world that are well qualified (cw21 etc) to service/work on these watches that don't advertise/post here. Nothing beats finding one locally that you trust and build a relationship...you'll find there aren't that many people as passionate about watches aside from us crazies than watchmakers...it's really the only reason these guys still do it.

I had an awesome conversation with Bob at Watchmakers Intl. Sent in 40 year old sub and he's already sent me a few pics on an in depth description on the current state of the watch, as well as what he'll be doing to get it up and running as a daily user and a full rundown and estimate.

If you're in Florida I'd make it easy on yourself and contact Rik Dietel at Time Care, Inc.

Rik of Time Care Inc has serviced numerous watches for me in the last 8-10 years. He’s honest dependable and trustworthy. I trust him to work on my watches without hesitation. If there is ever an issue ( he’s human) he will make it right. He has been in business a long time. He services watches for more than one Rolex AD and is one of a few CW21 in the Tampa Bay Area.
