SubC or BLNR as a daily
Trying to decide between the SubC or BLNR as a daily
Absolutely love the BLNR. And love the SubC. Both for completely different reasons BLNR is beautiful, one of my favourite SS to exist. love the colours and overall appearance. But the centre links make it look a little too flashy for my daily style. And I’ve always found the bezel a little busy (I do not own this watch) SubC is my only sub at this point. I have an explorer II for GMT hand. It’s a little less loud / more tool watch and suits my style a little more than the BLNR. But it is a little more common and do like BLNR overall look just a tad more although it doesn’t suit me as much. I’d have to offload the SubC for the BLNR What do you all think? Alternate every other day! They both stay wound and you get to enjoy both. I rotate my watches almost daily and reserve my speedy for Tuesday’s. What is annoying though is when you wear a watch one day with a date function and the next day without.

SubC - PCLs are not for OCD people like me.
You're on a roll lately! Flicking between a lot of pieces as of late! |

I agonized over the same two watches for months. I eventually went with the SubC, as I worried about the PCLs getting beat up w/ daily wear.

The only thing I didn't like about the BLNR was the PCL.

I vote BLNR because the blue gives it a litte edge and uniqueness and the SubC is EVERYWHERE.

So...don't offload the sub as you'll just eventually buy it back and you'll lose money. Just save up for the BLNR. |

Also have both and I vote sub for daily. Actually the reason I got the sub was because I wanted a better daily than the blnr. Not that it can’t be done, but sub makes a much better daily with the brushed bracelet and you can’t get tired of the all black. However, the blnr feels much more special on the wrist.
Both blnr and sub make a great combo. You said you had an exp2, I’d upgrade that to the blnr and keep the sub as a daily.

Tough choice you have there. I would easily give up the Sub and keep my BLNR but wouldn't be able to daily it like I used to with the Sub. Maybe you can buy the BLNR first, then decide which you want to keep? It's really hard to tell what kind of bond you will have with a watch until you have it on your wrist for a while.

For one only perhaps the Sub. But the BLNR is a must have in a collection.

Both, but if you have to choose I would go with the Sub although a year ago I would have said BLNR. I wore both a lot this past year, and the reasons I would go with the Sub (no date) are the following: (1) brushed ss bracelet, (2) much cleaner bezel, (3) glidelock system, and (4) cleaner and more symmetrical dial. I do love the punch of blue in the BLNR though. Both are fantastic.

BLNR is a great daily wearer. Dump the Sub and get it (never mind the overblown bracelet PCL-scratch phobia, it's like being afraid of little bugs).
False. A Sub is certainly not essential to any Rolex collection, never mind being "The Cornerstone" of them all Perhaps you're confusing your own preferences with the Rolex-collecting world at large? |

Sub is the everyday watch for me. I have a Rolex with PCL and no way could I handle it taking every day abuse. To me PCL are a upscale look. There is a reason all the divers are purposely brushed SS.

You wouldn't consider offloading your explorer 2 instead of your Sub to help cover the bLNR? you'd have your second time zone right back in the mix!
That's the route I would take even if it meant saving/spending a little more. |

I’d keep the Sub. I had the BLNR but I never saw it as a daily wearer. The Sub looks great on you. However, if you do decide to go the BLNR route then you could always get the PCL’s brushed by a decent watchmaker.
