Att'n vintage experts: 5513 - Metres first
What do we think of the attached, please? The dial and hands have been "refinished", does not look like the original bracelet, no papers. Sure looks pretty though...

1971 is way to late for a gilt, meters first dial. The bracelet could have been a riveted or folded in that time frame, so the 93150 is not original but is authentic. That price is way out of line for a refinished dial, the dial is what you are paying for. This watch has some serious issues! What a rip off!

It is better to buy a Brand New Sub than this.

agree with mike, this watch sounds to have many many issues, even though it is a great watch, you need to tread carefully.
Seems late for a gilt dial?, I would ask them for the serial number then speak to Rolex Aus, to get some varification, rolex can send an e.mail to geneva which will give the exact date, model, spec, and who it was sold to originally. hope this helps Marke |

" The King" s idea of a new sub is a good one especially if you could get one at a good price.

Thanks guys - this one was ringing alarm bells with me - appreciate your bearing this out. What also concerned me was the "last of the 5513s" statement, when I believe these were produced well into the '80s.
A pretty confection, but I will steer well clear... Cheers

Thanks Mark - no, the FF is one of my many grail watches. Especially the rather lovely all-black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) version. Perfect for someone like me who does not like polished surfaces
It will have to wait until I'm in a position not to have to ask the price... Cheers
