Guys & Gals,

I am thinking about putting together a fun GTG.

I would like to make it somewhat special. Maybe meet at an AD, have some drinks, some laughs, and some fun conversations about watches.

Maybe a raffle or two??

Then move on to a nice steakhouse or something similar.

Thinking about setting something up with a price fix menu to make it super easy for everyone.

North Jersey area.

I am going to throw this out there for something around March or April to give me time to set it up.

If anyone is interested, please respond here.

Indeed. I just haven’t cleared it with them yet.

So I’m keeping my options open.

Worst case we can all meet at Morton’s.

OK, all...here is the skinny.

I am dubbing this event "Rolex's and Ribeye's". (If a mod sees this and could add that to the title, it would be appreciated).

First and foremost, I want to state the fact that this is NOT a TRF sanctioned event. TRF does not do that. I put this only because I have seen some drama in the past from other GTG's.

I am doing this for the fun of it. I think it would be great to meet up with a bunch of like-minded people and I am always looking to network and meet new people. That is part of the fun of life.

I am thinking right now that we will do this on March 24th at Lee Perla. We will meet at Lee Perla in the neighborhood of 6:00 pm. I figure we can spend a good solid hour and a half there talking watches and whatnot.

At 7:30, we will then move to Mortons Steakhouse in the same mall. I have secured a room and they are currently confirming that the date works.

I have to pay a non-refundable deposit of $125 which I am OK with. I also have to guarantee them a minimum of $1,200, which should be easy if we get 12 people or more. If we do not get enough people, but we are close, I am OK providing the difference.

My wife will be joining and considering it is a Saturday, I very much encourage everyone to bring their spouses, significant others, friends etc... Of course, it is not necessary.

I will ask anyone that confirms to send me $100. I am not going to make any money off of this event. I just don't want to be on the hook for $1,200. If there is extra money left over after the event, I will donate it to the ASPCA. However, I highly doubt there will be any money left over. Mortons is not cheap. But they do happen to have an exceptional Ribeye, among many other things.

I do happen to feel like a $100 dinner at a premier steakhouse is not expensive.

If anyone wants to join just for Lee Perla, there is of course no cost to that.

So that is about it. If the cost factor scares people away, and we just want to do Lee Perla, that is fine too. But I personally would like to do the Mortons part as well. If it becomes just my wife and I, or even a few others, that is fine too.

No pressure either way.

If anyone wants to join, please say so via this thread, and I will reach out to you via PM and then add you to the list. Please confirm if you want to do both, or just Lee Perla.

I will keep a running list of attendees here on this thread.
