Will AP boutique authenticate watch and warranty?
If a take my watch and warranty card to a boutique, will they authenticate them? Anybody have experiences?
Thanks! |

Yes should be no problem. Show us pics, front and back , and we can too.

I’ve called the AP boutique to confirm warranty status on prospective Pre-Owned purchases. Hey e been able to tell me the original purchase date and warranty status just by providing them with the serial/case numbers.
That’s not to say someone could be providing you with numbers from a different watch, but it’s a good start. |

I actually went to the AP boutique to confirm authenticity by simply (and quickly) looking at the watch and entering the serial number into their database, they were able to confirm that it's authentic. But what bothered me is that they didn't feel the need to carefully examine the watch and movement. Though, they said they know a fake right away when they see one.
Anyone else have an experience like this? Is this enough or should I request a closer examination? Fyi, the number on the warranty card matches the back of the case back. |

It seems that you’re still worried that it’s fake so I can’t understand why you’d buy it in the first place? Don’t you trust the seller? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

hate to revive such an old thread but does anyone have experience with sending their AP in for a copy of papers? Also known as "archive papers"?

I also assume the APSC can authenticate the warranty period via their system as well. Perhaps you can give them a shout.
In terms of authenticity, if you take it to them in person it should probably work. However, as a disclaimer they also tend to say they can't authenticate every single part of the watch. If you are able to provide some pictures on the forums, the members on here can probably give you a good guidance as well. Cheers! |

My guess is that since AP isn’t a charity if you want a more in depth analysis of the watch then you’ll need to pay for a service. Just my opinion.

The good news is that your watch is an open case back. I have yet to see that movement replicated properly. Position of the bridge is always a dead give away on the fakes.

Though not 100% bullet proof, I think one could add the watch “my collection” under his registered AP account. He will need to input both the case back # and the warranty # on the warranty booklet. While the case back # can easily be faked, the warranty # should be quite impossible to.

With say a 15400, the movement is a give away whether it is fake or not. But what about a chronograph? Tough to know for sure a 26320 or 26331 isn't fake...
