Need help valuing my 7928
Hi, i have recently bought a 7928 (without much research) and thought it has good investment value given the rolex equivalent are quite highly value. Now after discussion with a few dealers and given tudor is not highly sought after in hong kong, i am not sure if the watch has much going for it either, but i do enjoy the vintage feel and love wearing it. (I know that the polishing is off and the dials are kinda dirty and falling off) condition is not great but would like to learn more on the watch and how others would value it. Please leave any comments. Thanks

Don't know much about tudors, but the dial looks like either very late gilt track production or a very early service dial (more likely). What's the serial? Can we see the crown guards?

Currently dont hv the watch with me, ill take some pics after i get back from vacation, but how can you tell that its a service dial? Seems like it matches other 1960s gilt dial of 7928.

do NOT trust any dealers giving you "value" for your watch; instead, track said dealers and see how they are pricing their similar examples.
i have terrible experiences with dealers lowballing me as they sell inferior examples for double to triple their "values" to me. |

I don't believe we are allowed to give valuues on watches but we can confirm how legit.
PS - I responded to your post on VRM with your question in wrong location ; ) It is a legit dialed 1964, 1965, 1966 7928. More likely 64 than 65 than 66 It has the proper Silver Print Chapter Ring dial in fair shape - the lume is a bit messy. NOT a service dial. Insert (cracked at pearl) was replaced with a 1968 or later insert . Overall a pretty original though grungy piece

Thanks man! But how did you know it was a later insert? Im learning everyday, and what i mean by value is that do collectors view tudor strongly as well? Is it a worthwhile piece to keep in your own opinion, understanding that its different for everyone. Thanks

Same inserts as Rolex. Long 5 until 1968ish, MK1/MK3 after
Restoring a 1964 right now
