Check the latest auction results for NOS 6263s. There have been a couple and there is one coming in Phillips auction now. A big red black dial.

NOS would be over 250k.

Did rolex back then even come with stickers though?

No way! It would be the most expensive 6263 non-newman ever sold... I would think closer to $150.

Yes, they did. Not sure of the style in the mid-'80s, but here's the sticker that came on my 6263, 6.0 mil. serial from about 1979. It was put on the vinyl wallet. Often the dealer would take the sticker off of the caseback and include it elsewhere, sometimes on the warranty paper too.

Amazing set. Do you wear it or is it true nos and meant to stay that way?

I wear it all the time! It's not NOS at all, but a very honest 6263 in great shape. I much prefer that. What's the point of having an NOS vintage Rolex, or close to it, except to stick it in a safe? I want to wear these beautiful old timepieces.

agree 100%. A true NOS watch is only NOS until its worn...then it becomes mint. I never understood why anyone would pay a huge premium for a watch that must spend its life untouched to retain that value.

I wear all of my watches...life is too short to keep them stored in a dark vault untouched.

Nice piece you have there!

The “curse” of a NOS watch is exactly this...never to be worn
Its preserved in the NOS condition because the purpose it serves is of a pure investment and not of a timepiece anymore

Regards

Yes there were case back stickers during the 1980s.

thanks jp.

i meant like the ones we have today on the lugs, clasp etc.

the questions is will a case back sticker itself being jntact mean nos? the answer i believe is no so how does one prove nos to begin with aside from the caseback sticker and no visable wear?

i had that Phillips 6263 in my hands last weekend. It was a stunner. I'm thinking close to $200k with the 25% buyer premium

I think "unworn" is hypebs and unnecessary. 100% original finish can at least be honest and with very close inspection can at least be verified. If a watch is put under high magnification and a person who is fully knowledgeable studies it and says that there are absolutely no signs of wear then it is mint. If someone gave that watch to me on Saturday morning for my 30th birthday I believe that I could have worn it that day and through dinner and still have it looking unworn. 40 years later I choke on a piece of calamari at that birthday dinner and the watch is dug out of the safe and declared "unworn."

Christie’s had. 6265 that was NOS and I hi I it went in the high 60’s or 70’s. There was a NOS that was sold on Chrono24 also a 6265 that he ask was 125k that finally sold.
