OP 36 or 39

Good afternoon guys,

After seeing the new white OP I’ve decided to put my efforts towards that. Last week I went into London to try on the 36 and 39 to gauge the sizes. Wanted your opinion which suits my wrist better. Also, the new watch gallery at Harrods is pretty grand!

36mm

39mm

Thanks for your advice!

36 looks more suited to your wrist methinks but it will be you who wears your eventual choice. I already have the 36mm blue OP and wish that the new white had the 3, 6, 9 markers rather than the double batons. I'd struggle to get the purchase past SWMBO anyway...

I like to think the 36 is more subtle. Me thinks the white dial 36 will just appear abit larger on the wrist because it’s white lol. The only one drawback of the 39 for me is the black dots above the hour markers. I actually like the double baton at 3/6/9, looks unique.

I’m used to 40mm from my BLNR but when I tried these two on, the 36 did just ever so slightly look better to me. The wife said she needs to see them both on my wrist so she can give her 2 cents. Lol

39 looks great IMO

It wears really nicely too, really enjoy mine

No wrong choice there though, good luck!

39mm looks good on your wrist and I much prefer the dial and bezel shape. Good luck!

OP 116000 Blue 3-6-9 Arabic Dial

The 36 is a great watch and seems to wear 'bigger' than my Explorer 14270 & 114270 and is now my daily wearer, the watch you have pictured, my nephew has and it is also a goodun'. I'm not so keen on the 39s size or choice of dials

36 over 39! Get the blue 36 mm OP like this one , you won't regret it!

Can’t wait for them to release the white dial versions in both sizes so I can compare them both.

I think the 36 looks better on you. In general I think he OP line looks best at 36 or 34mm. At 39mm I prefer the explorer.

Agree entirely. If you like 39, try to put in an order for an Explorer I. I like the 3-6-9 dial and clasp. I’m also not a huge fan of the dials on 39mm OP; not in love with the colorful dots or mix of WG/lume markers (prefer consistency and simplicity here).

I like the 36 OP in either the white dial or blue 3-6-9. The white will probably wear largest, which would seem to be to your advantage if you’re a bit torn between sizes.

I am not a big fan of the exp1 dial, I just like the simple baton markers and I agree the white dial is my main 1st choice. Esp in 36mm because the dial will give it a larger presence. Not a fan of the dots either on the 39mm OP. Just takes away from the clean lines I feel.

Will most likely have to just wait till the OP white is out and try both on for size!

In that case, I think you're making the right choice! For what it's worth, the dots on the 39mm bother me significantly less on the white/black dial versions, as they are the same color as the minute markers (just larger). The hour markers are also all the same size, and all lumed, on those versions.

Bigger question for me is whether 36mm version will receive same case updates as DJ next year, and if those are worth waiting for.

I have OP39 rhodium. It depends what you like. Be sure if you get 36mm you are confident on size.

Look at Rolex website there is a new black dial or polar dial OP39 out. The black dial has white squares and the white dial has black squares.

The new white dial OP is what I have my eye on. Thats for sure. It’s just the size I need to be 101% on

What about the black dial OP39? I am waiting for white dial and black dial to come in stock so I can go see them.

It’s tough to gauge size with the close up pics. I have a smaller wrist but have always found the 36 mm too small.

I’d say 39 mm although I like the designs of the 36 mm better. The blue 3-6-9 is one of the best models in Rolex’s catalog.

I think the 36 works better for your wrist. Normally I'd prefer the 39 but I just think the proportions of the 36 seem better for you

Both extremely nice. I'm lucky enough to be able to pull off both sizes because of my wrist and they're both phenomenal to wear.

Just based off the pics you posted, I'd go with the 39
