Annual Production of Seiko

I am curious. Does anyone knows? I am quite sure in terms of sheer numbers, they make more watches per year than Rolex.

I heard GS itself is about 20,000 but can't verify it. ADs are rather tight-lip on this as well.

Bear in mind this was printed in 2003, and that not all movements went into watches – some would be for spares inventories for Seiko and those whom it supplied.
I’d imagine that 15 years on, those numbers would be at least 10%, if not 15%, higher.

Great info, thank you! I personally don't care much about the numbers as long as I am getting a well built watch, and generally I will stick to JDM models, on the theory that they do not want issues with their home audience. Would not buy a Seiko "limited edition" today on any theory that it will appreciate more, as it seems to me that Seiko is kind of going down the Omega road right now. Which I feel was a disaster for Omega as they issued way too many "limiteds".
