I just wrote to my AD regarding the watch. I should have heard from him regarding my order. Hopefully I'll hear soon.

Well I've heard back; they are actually waiting for permission to place orders for the Basel releases. I'll be heading out to the West Coast next week; I'll see what's out there.

Looks pretty good .. still cannot figure out why folks are calling this a Root Beer ... The original Root Beer was named after the Brown Dial ...

I like it a lot! I'm in Tokyo, and will be checking on Monday if there is anything new in Ginza.

And, yeah, I agree that the current model isn't really a root beer. Even ignoring the drink reference itself, it's pretty different from the original root beer watch. Some folks are calling it "Espresso," which makes a lot more sense to me. |

I liked this as soon as the pics from Basel came through, much better colouring than the ceramic Pepsi. I think when these hit ADs they're going to be a real hit.

I think they will do well too. At my AD's event last night, people who were interested in the Pepsi already remained interested, but people who weren't convinced from the get-go also didn't seem to be immediate converts. The CHNR had a very positive reaction from people - it seems to be the one piece that converted people when it could be seen and tried on in person. I was told if I was interested, I could have one pretty quickly. Not sure if I'll regret not going for it, but I'm still on the fence if I want to spend the money considering other pieces on my "want list".
