It's a not for profit site that somebody made out of passion. Sorry, but it's great the way it is and this is coming from someone who works in the digital/software space.

Finding the watch in some of those photos was like a game of "Where's Wally" moving the zoomed in hair follicles and freckles around trying to find something resembling part of a watch. The new system is much better (although some members could learn to use tapatalk a little better, i.e. Put each photo on a new line, and don't break paragraphs with them) |

It’s not the site software that implemented policy. The policy keeps all of us from time wasted downloading big fat huge pics showing arm hair that nobody really wants to see anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

If it must be seen in full-size then just link to a photo cloud service. Remember, when you joined, the rules were the same... And you seemed happy...compared to the other places you had tried before TRF. Quote:
And you were able to post pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Tend to agree that the platform is dated. Design aspect aside there are many modern platforms that have user optimised feeds, image uploading with serverside resizing, smart notifications, etc etc..
The biggest watch entusiast forum in Sweden, klocksnack is running on XenForo and that is so much better

Don’t hardly know what the site looks like on my Mac anymore. But do find it hard to use when I do. Mainly because all my photos are on my iPhone and moving them doesn’t make sense.

It has nothing to do with the version of vBulletin forum software. It's a setting.
And with so many members, it would eat up the space too quickly. VBulletin got acquired by a different group and their new forum sucks, however, the group that originally created this have a new forum and it absolutely rocks. ANd vBulletin can be converted to it. That would be super awesome as it comes with notifications too :) XenForo is the name

Now sizing photos is too hard.
The forum is fine; one of the best platforms and easy to read. It's perfect. |

^ This and I’ll add cloud storage space costs money if the photos are hosted on the forum. That is why most forums limit photo sizes. If the photo is hosted on a third party platform like Tapatalk or Photobucket, then it does not count against the forum’s storage space.
