Deap Sea at AD in Southern California
Happy Weekend to my fellow TRFers...
I was suprised to read in my local paper this morning that a new AD had opened up literally a few blocks from my house. I went in to look around, and was AMAZED at how many Rolex's they have on display. I didn't count, but I would estimate maybe 50, and the sales associate told me they had another 50 coming in! Because they were a new store they hadn't builit up their inventory yet! Anyway, the sales guy I spoke to was extremely knowledgable, nice, and non-pressurative (yeah, I know, it's not really a word but I just made it one). He showed me all kinds of Daytonas, including the Rose-Gold (BOY that is a stunning watch), the TT Daytonas with the new dial, lots and lots of other watches, and patiently answered my questions. He either enjoyed discussing Rolex with me or was an extremely good actor. When I was about to leave, he said: "Wait, I want to show you something we keep in the safe." He came back a minute later with a Rolex Box, opened it, and there was the first ever Deep Sea I ever saw in person. I tried it on, and realized I wouldn't have to visit the gym today because I got my arm workout just wearing the thing on my wrist. It was one of the largest and heaviest watches I have ever seen! Hey, it's a beatuiful stunning and rugged watch, but just not to my taste. I asked him if he was holding it for a special customer and he said "no." They were actually suprised to receive it and it hadn't been assigned to anyone. It is for sale, obviously not on display, but anyone who is interested has a shot at it. I'm not a Deep Sea person, so I don't know if availability is scarce or not, but if you're interested, give Jack a call: 858-622-9000 Tell him Paul sent you, (have no idea if he will remember me, but I told him I would put out the word the watch was there and to ask for him). Good Luck! And if anyone picks it up, please let me know how the transaction goes! P.S. If I can help, please feel free to IM me. |
