Incoming Ruthenium 15400!

The choice came down to the white (silver) dial and this one. Went with Ruthenium because I felt the silver dial was too close to my white Sky Dweller.

Things I like: Feels great on the wrist. Comfortable. Very good looking. Different than anything that isn’t AP — and adds an entirely new component to my small collection.

But my favorite thing is the huge range of colors the dial can display (see below). From reflective shiny silver which matches the bezel to nearly black. One of my favorite looks is the creamy gray. I’ve tried to capture this in the first pic below (yes, the the dial is still wrapped as I was still evaluating it when taking pics).

I know there have been some questions about contrast and the whole ensemble appearing too monochromatic. Thus far in my early experience, there is a ton of contrast 90% of the time.

A note for those considering this color: it is only reflective when it is under direct indoor lamp / overhead light. Otherwise, in natural light or most indoor settings that aren’t at a desk with lights overhead, it does not appear shiny, but various versions of a matte finish.

I bought this somewhat spur of the moment, but unlike some other watches, I’ve bonded with it quickly!

Looks great! Congrats!!!

And I love to hear how you described the dial, I have yet to see this color in person and it’s the one I ordered for my 15450. What you describe is more or less what I’ve noticed in photos and makes me feel even better about having ordered this color.

15400 dial is very difficult to capture on camera.
It has to be seen in real life to appreciate.

Congratulations on picking a modern classic!

The Ruthenium dial is really good looking and interesting as it keeps changing depending on the light condition. I had one, gave it to my old man though as I found a blue 15300.

Great pick up, congrats!

I recently went looking for the blue 15450 but the shop brought out a ruthenium instead. It was the first time I saw one and a part of me REALLY just wanted to leave with it on the spot.

Very good choice, this dial choice is also very limited in supply. My AD is limited to 1 per year and it seems that there is also a wait if buying directly from the boutique.

That’s also what I’ve been told in regards to limited supply, I’ve seen a few sellers advertise it as ‘Boutique only’ which I believe is incorrect it’s just the typical case of the boutiques getting first dibs/priority.

Remember Arije had one available when we popped in after the Salon QP event.

This makes sense, I haven't seen one for sale since I got mine the week it came out. I regularly monitor trusted sellers and visit several boutiques and never saw one for sale since I got mine a year ago.

Yeah I’m not sure why but even the boutique that I ordered it from told me that it was a boutique exclusive when I first made the call and they told me that I could be put on the list if I wanted it. But the website only shows the blue dial as boutique exclusive…

The first one I saw was at Arije which is an AP AD not boutique.

Think is we are finding different levels of supply and what’s classed as BO in different countries.

Think the scenario here is similar to the Ce44 where it’s technically not a BO piece but supply is so limited it’s really only boutiques which are getting them, but that’s not to say an AD can’t and won’t its just a case of supply not meeting demand.

Take the 15407st that’s not listed as BO yet I’m still to here of one being supplied by an AD.

That makes a lot of sense, technically not exclusive, but ends up being exclusive in practice.

Looks fantastic! Great choice and welcome to the club!
