Silly UK hulk prices continue
Popped into the new watchfunder boutique in Birmingham today. Had a white dial Daytona in the window for £16k. BLNR for £9.4k. I asked about hulk and they said they had literally just sold one for £9.6k. That’s $12.8k for those of an American persuasion. When will the madness stop!

It amazes me how much disposable income people have. I wouldn't pay over msrp.

I was lucky enough to pick up a hulk from an AD on Thursday. Their version of the supply/demand on ss sports is that Rolex is not cutting supply and that the demand is so much higher and is solely causing the shortages. ADs are holding certain pieces for repeat customers.
I am somewhat skeptical of this as I think supply is definitely a cause as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sadly a lot of buyers out there don't really care about this.

Why anyone would buy anything from watchfinder is beyond me! They overprice even the less hot models!

its a rolex manufacturers warranty same as you get from DavidSW or Govberg or whoever. However its probably a Rolex SA warranty and not a Rolex USA warranty so apparently RSC NY might give you some trouble.

They are really big now Richemont have bought them, and so anyone who thinks prices are going to go down, unless Rolex make some serious structural changes, hasn't been paying attention.

The reality is that for many, the route to buy a more popular piece through an AD is virtually impossible with supply restrictions and then The garbage of buying other pieces and others with more purchase history. That may be not so for many of us on here who have larger and expensive collections and past relations with AD’s when times were less restrictive. If I wanted a hulk and had the money I’d give it consideration, as in many cases it will be the only route to ownership. Paying a couple of grand extra in those circumstances might be better than being able to purchase something I didn’t necessarily want in the long run. |

When I was buying my Hulk in Feb this year he had very similar Hulks up for £8,450 which shows the inflation just in the last few months. I didn't buy from him as even back then he was expensive. I bought a BNIB with stickers Dec 2017 model for £8k in Feb and am very happy I did. Great service from the seller too - far better than the snooty derision I found in 3 of the ADs I foolishly tried first. |

I got mine March 2017 at rrp after a 2/3 month wait. This is before the hysteria started around this reference. I think it is definitely the fear of missing out like with the original LV.

For less informed customer who has a lot of money it isn't a big deal. They are rich people who won't spend a penny more than what needs to be paid (MSRP) and then they are people with fair income willing to pay extra.
$3K extra for a watch is not a lot for some. Similar prices by some ADs in Asia. |

It is funny. They seem to be desirable for the sole reason that they are hard to get. Somehow I have a feeling that some people will not be able to get rid of them fast enough when the next great thing rolls around.
I urge people to think carefully before supporting an inflated gray market. |
