Hulk is calling my name

Since the two Rolex watches that I own are 5 digit models (14060m Submariner and Polar Explorer II) and I am on the waiting list for Tudor GMT (hopefully it will arrive this month!), I've been considering lately which modern (6-digit) Rolex to get next.

I was considering:
-Hulk
-SD43
-SS GMT
-BLNR

SD43 although fantastic watch is a bit overkill for me, I have Sinn U1 SDR for a deep saturation diving ;)

I will have two true GMT watches when the Tudor GMT arrive.

Hulk on other hand.... The more I see the watch the more I fall for it. Initially I thought it is too loud but after seeing pictures of it under different lightning conditions, I find it amazing! I like the maxi case and dial, fitting for its nickname.

So, I called the local AD (I have a good relationship with them) and was told that I could get the watch in 3-4 month.

The upcoming Friday I am pulling the trigger (putting down a deposit), I've never seen Hulk in real life but I have the feeling that will not be disappointed.

Of them, Hulk due to it having a sunburst dial. SS GMT as second choice for features and dual-color bezel, plus SS GMT has a Jubilee metal bracelet so may further diversify your collection.

The emerald dial in the sun is second to none.

I have trouble telling the time on my Hulk because when I look at it, my eyes are drawn to the wonderful green color and I forget about the time.

No, you are not enablers and you are not feeding my addiction ;)

Out of curiousity, provided you got the Hulk from an AD, how long did you waited for it?

Waiting times can be over a year but some have lucked out sooner. It will be worth the wait.

Congrats!! Lucky you had to see it on steel before purchasing!

Now rewinding the events a bit, I believe I've seen that watch at available at some airport (Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt or Amsterdam?) few years ago. Then I had zero interest in Rolex watches and was chasing IWC Big Pilot at that time... I've seen in under artificial light (very harsh and bright) and thought 'who would like to wear' such a loud and attention grabbing piece? How things have changed! In fact now the radiant personality and the subdued dark green colour of the dial and bezel on the pictures taken outside when it is overcast.

You will absolutely not be disappointed. It never looks the same from one minute to the next as the light bounces off it.

Hulk is stunning.

Have you tired on the SD43? I'm curious on how it wears compared to a standard 5 digit sub.

Just curious how the SD43 wears from a comfort factor.

You'll love it. I had only seen it online and didn't think much of it before I happened to randomly see one in the case while helping a friend look for a watch and I had to buy it (this was obviously years ago).

The other day I kept my eye on it for a minute as I walked through different lighting conditions, and it was cool to see how much it changed looks. I was considering making a video of it but I couldn't keep my phone still enough
