Does the Oysterflex work with a suit?

I was waiting for my 10:00 appointment and took this shot? The OF is sporty but I think it works with business attire too.

How many others wear their OF Daytona or OF YM with a suit and what are your thoughts with the pairing?

Not my thing, though I'm not even comfortable wearing my sub with a suit. I do love the BLNR-OF combo, though.

Surely you know how these threads go:

1) absolutely not, you may as well put on swim flippers
2) James Bond wore an illfitting NATO so anything goes

Pretty much a 50-50 split.

I wouldn't but you can.

Nope.

Oystersteel, on the other hand, goes with anything.

I'm sure it's fine in certain instances. I personally would never wear it with a suit. Only OF I'd consider doing that with is the WG Daytona or RG YMI.

I think the BLNR looks best on its native PCL bracelet. This is all a matter of opinion though.

No! And truthfully a sports watch is only acceptable with a suit if you are under 35, and some age it is only appropriate to wear dress watch with a suit.

Not a rubber strap person; I've had too many break. I had a rubber strapped dive watch as a youth. It wasn't very water resistant and didn't live up to its name. I feel that wearing a rubber strapped watch with a suit screams of "I'm too cheap to own a proper watch and can only afford one for my hobby." I guess the crossing of a GMT with a rubber strap also bothers me as I like rubber for dive watches but see little sense for it with other watches. On the other had it's your watch, wrist, and wardrobe. If it works for you that's all that counts.

I wish Rolex had that view so I could have my oyster flex sub! It is a little odd to me that Daytona’s were the next to be fitted with a rubber strap.

That said if you like it go with it! I’m in the camp that only watch people notice a watch and most people pay very little attention to what watch you have on and if it matches your attire.

Nah, this strap sort of looks best on pm watches. Oyster for me or throw a t-shirt on and surround it with a beach.

I much prefer Rolexes on the metal bracelets. I have a BLNR too, and would never put an oyster flex on it.

As for my thoughts on pairing that with a suit, if that's your only watch and you don't have a choice then go for it. But there are plenty of dress watch options with leather straps that would go much better with a suit.

While I have a pending OF order that will pull multiple watch duty - I plan you switch it between my BLNR, Sub, and soon to one day be here white 500LN - I don't think it works so well with a suit.

However, if you dig it, do it. I pass nary a judgement.

Personally I don't like rubber straps at all and certainly not with a suit.

Alligator leather strap a la Daytona? yes.
Oyster Flex? No.

But frankly, a non-WIS will not care or even notice your watch, and a WIS will not care thinking anything goes as long as the owner is happy doing it. :)

I'm on the fence about this. Typically I'd say wear whatever you want, but I'm just not feeling this combo with a suit.

Went to a wedding several years ago in Rehoboth Beach De, the brother of the groom wore a Panerai on a rubber strap. Looked hideous and totally out of place. I recall wearing a vintage Omega Seamaster on a black strap. Probably cost 1/10 of the Panerai but was 100% more appropriate.
